Kingston IronKey USB achieves SySS Pen Test Certificate for enhanced security

Kingston Digital Europe, a flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, has revealed that its Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 series hardware-encrypted USB drives have successfully obtained the SySS Pen Test Certificate. This certification further strengthens the enterprise security credentials of the IronKey product line, assuring customers of its robust protection against potential vulnerabilities and unauthorised access. SySS, an internationally recognised penetration testing and security consulting company, conducted rigorous and comprehensive assessments on the Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 series. The goal was to evaluate its resistance to various attack vectors and ascertain its overall security profile. After a thorough examination, the IronKey Vault Privacy 50 series passed the drive-level attack suites, proving its reliability and high level of enterprise-grade security. Oscar Escayola Kaloudis, flash business manager, Kingston EMEA said: “This certification validates the meticulous testing and strict security measures we apply to our products, providing customers with peace of mind and confidence in their data protection strategies. The VP50 series with enterprise-grade security is already FIPS 197 certified and complements our line-up of FIPS 140-3 Level 3 pending drives, such as the Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 Hardware-encrypted USB Flash Drive, which provide the highest military-grade data protection.”

Epson launches A4 desktop scanners delivering smallest footprint in class

Epson has launched four compact desktop scanners, the Epson DS-C330, DS-C490, ES-C320W and the ES-C380W to support the digitalisation process and address new office challenges triggered by hybrid working – in particular shared workspaces, smaller offices and reduced desk space.

These new scanners significantly reduce demands on desk space and allow users the versatility to choose the most suitable media path. Using a simple lever feature, these scanners can easily transition from a U-turn media path to a straight path delivering more flexible media handling to support a wider range of documents; from passports to long-form paper formats at speeds ranging from 30 – 40 ppm depending on model. Wireless scanning is possible on the ES-C320W and the ES-C380W, and the inclusion of Epson ScanWay with the ES- C380W means users can use the product as a stand-alone solution, progressing scan and selecting workflows from the product’s touchscreen panel, removing the need for a PC. Users can scan to popular cloud-based services including OneDrive, Sharepoint online and Microsoft Teams using Epson Connect.

All models include a range of image and text enhancement technologies including OCR (optical character recognition) processing, features to protect documents and to simplify destination or workflow selection.

global.epson.com Canon updates workspace print offering

Canon UK has refreshed its range of imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX multifunction and single function devices with improvements and collaboration tools for hybrid working.

The range now has a reduction of Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) values of up to 16% compared to previous models. Devices and parts have also been designed to last longer. Additionally, the polystyrene packaging previously used has been reduced and replaced with recyclable cardboard to limit single-use waste. These printers also offer customers device, data and network protection for security at every stage of the document lifecycle. The latest security firmware delivers end-to-end protection and both include encrypted file sharing, featuring TLS1.3, WPA3 and SMB 3.1.1 support. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX products are also armed with FIPS 140-3 for certified encryption performance. All devices in the updated portfolio also include two-factor authentication in addition to incorporating stricter password rules for added protection. To ensure protection from malicious cyber-attacks, businesses can gain visibility with secure status visualisation. The refreshed product ranges are also supported by a Security Settings Navigator utility, which allows users to apply optimum settings required for different network environments, without the need for a security specialist.
