New bright screen privacy filters from 3M help increase compliance
IT managers can help improve their privacy-policy compliance using new bright screen privacy filters from 3M for laptops. The filters improve screen brightness by 25% on average compared to standard ‘black’ privacy filters. In doing so, the new privacy filters address a top pain point – darkened screens – that can impact viewing experiences and worker usage rates.
Developed with a new ‘nanolouver’ film technology, the filters help protect sensitive and confidential data displayed on laptop screens by blackening out angled views of onlookers while remaining virtually invisible for device users. The improved viewing experience helps increase the likelihood that workers use the filters through providing 85% transmission of the device’s brightness. This is ideal for workers in fields like financial services, sales, engineering and graphic design, who spend long hours working with text, tables and graphics. The filters are among the thinnest privacy filters available from 3M, providing consistent touch responsiveness. And they have a matte surface to help reduce glare and hide fingerprints. They are currently available for use on a range of laptop models. 3M plans to expand the line to other devices.

IMOU launches panoramic 360° pan and tilt camera
IMOU has launched the Rex 3D, a smart pan and tilt indoor security camera. It is equipped with IMOU Sense, a self-developed AI algorithm matrix. Rex 3D claims a
recognition accuracy of 99% for human figures and pets. It recognises objects and processes data in 20 milliseconds (0.02 seconds) and quickly finds human and pet targets in images, immediately sending a notification to app within 0.6 seconds, allowing users to monitor what matters without receiving false alerts. In addition, the omission ratio is reduced by 35% to 50%, and the false alarms can be reduced up to 95%.
The Rex 3D has two levels of image quality, 3MP and 5MP. The 8x digital zoom, more than 1080P sensor and advanced IR algorithms provide crystal clear video both day and night. Under smart tracking mode the IMOU Life App can be turned on, allowing the Rex 3D to automatically track and record movement and abnormal events after detecting an unrecognised object. The Rex 3D automatically rotates through 355° horizontally. Users can turn on Auto-Cruise in the IMOU App, allowing them to plan their security schedule remotely. There are six favourite points available to set via the app, and cruising time can be changed here. The retention time can be set at each favourite point for 10-300 seconds. Additionally, the lens can be rotated to face down, which disables recording and monitoring. When the active deterrence mode is turned on, as soon as a moving object appears on the monitor, the Rex 3D will automatically emit a high-decibel alarm sound (100 dB) to deter the intruder and at the same time push a notification to the app.
