“For cycling specifically, we are going for small, highly loaded components: saddles, suspension rocker links, crank arms, etc,” said Willemin.

the Fusion Module, enabling the production of much more complex parts. “In terms of materials, we are solely using thermoplastic polymers,” explained Willemin.

“This has very positive effects on the manufacturing

(possibility to reshape, weld, co-consolidate parts) and on the recycling. “Most of our customers comment that they are impressed by the combination of performance, cost, and sustainability enabled by our solution.”

The component market 9T Labs’ focus markets are cycling, aerospace interiors and luxury timepieces. In these markets, the company works with many of the top OEMs.

9T Labs are also working on adjacent markets including medical, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and consumer electronics. In these markets, there will only be a few very targeted projects to gain a better understanding of the true potential. “In the cycling industry, we already have one OEM (saddle) with a final product to be launched in the next few months,” said Willemin. “This customer is engaged in a long-term partnership with the acquisition of our technology. “In parallel, we have several ongoing long-term projects, feasibility, proof of concept, production at 9T Labs, then implementing the solution for the customers, with both bicycle brands and bicycle component manufacturers.” In 2024, the first products for bicycles will be launched by 9T Labs’ partners. Willemin explains that 9T Labs will never become a direct part supplier. As a tech company, they are only going to be featured as an ingredient brand. “Together with existing and new customers, we will move forward in training them and their suppliers on our new design and manufacturing solution. “At the end of 2024, at least one external company will have

our technology in house and act as a supplier for parts made with it.

“In 2025, major bicycle brands will launch their new bikes with 9T Labs made components.” 
