On his appointment Simon, who lives just outside Bristol, said: “It’s great to be joining the BikeBiz team, working with Daniel and Richard. Clearly there’s much change taking place within the industry, and 2024 will see the landscape change further. Being part of the BikeBiz team means reporting on both the positive and the challenging events taking place within our industry. “I’m fortunate to blend my BikeBiz staff writer job with time spent working in a bike shop, serving customers, working with distributors – a combination which (I hope) gives my written work a unique point of view, whether that be reporting news, or sharing insights and expertise from others within, and beyond, our industry sector.” As well as a riding background in cross country MTB and road, Simon has a significant interest in cycling as a transport solution and is keen to explore

Emily Wormald, Cycle Sprog


Cycle Sprog, the family cycling website, has announced the appointment of Emily Wormald as rides and reviews editor. Wormald will be responsible for managing a review panel of children of all ages and cycling abilities as well as developing the Cycle Sprog community, providing regular content that encourages families to cycle. Her prior experience as an account manager and instructor with the Outward Bound Trust means Wormald has the skills to deal with both corporate clients and children, a mix needed in her new role. Karen Gee, Cycle Sprog’s founder, said: “I am so pleased to welcome Emily to the Cycle Sprog team. She brings a wealth of experience in establishing thriving communities, as well as the


Lee Gibbons, British Cycling


British Cycling has announced the appointment of Lee Gibbons as a new independent non-executive director on the organisation’s board of directors. In a 22-year career in the sports


marketing industry, Gibbons has held senior roles in organisations including IMG and adidas, where he led the brand’s sponsorship programme for London 2012. He is currently managing director of Sport Unlimited, an insight-driven integrated sports marketing agency, part of the UK’s leading conversion agency Unlimited. As an independent non-executive


director, Gibbons will provide support and expertise to British Cycling’s commercial and marketing functions, as the organisation looks to capitalise on the spotlight of Paris 2024.
