Rachael Tarr Audio Designer, Project Astrid

Bryn Smith Assistant Producer, Project Astrid

OVER THE PAST 20+ YEARS, I’ve seen Splash Damage grow from three men huddled around CRT monitors, to over 400 incredibly talented people from all sorts of backgrounds, ethnicities and gender identities. It constantly impresses me just how

far we’ve come in that time, what we’ve been able to accomplish, and how vibrant, diverse and accepting the studio’s culture is these days. We still have room to improve, of course, but it means so much to know that our people are comfortable being their true, authentic selves here. This is such an exciting time for Splash Damage as we hammer away at our two current projects, and that variety of backgrounds and viewpoints is reflected in the incredible work our teams are producing. I can’t wait until we get to show it all off!

I’VE BEEN AT SPLASH for about 5 and a half years now, starting as an Audio QA and working my way up to Audio Designer, and have been supported and encouraged every step of the way. Line management is treated as a very

important part of the studio and there are courses available for anyone with direct reports. It’s a great initiative, which has made me feel that the Line Managers I’ve had have been very considerate and actively wanted to help me to progress my career. The studio has a lively vibe and there’s

always something to do. Events are the best way to meet colleagues who you may not have had the chance to interact with before. Meanwhile, work on our current projects can be challenging but is also very rewarding!

I’M AN ASSISTANT PRODUCER, and I’ve been with Splash Damage since October 2021. Working in Production gives me a

bird’s-eye view over all of the project’s moving parts and the folks behind it all, which I love. It’s an honour to get to work with some of the most skilled and genuinely lovely individuals on such a promising project. Splash Damage is a truly inclusive,

people-powered studio that has made great strides in making folks from all walks of life feel like they belong which, as an industry, is greatly needed in games at the moment.

“It means so

much to know that our people are comfortable being their true, authentic

selves here.” Richard Jolly, CEO
