Culdcept Begins 14th May – Waterloo, London

game.neoscorp.jp/culdcept_begins/

I took an early-morning tube ride into Waterloo to see not one, but two games from the hugely popular Japanese series Culdcept. To celebrate their arrival in the West – and courtesy of publisher Clear River Games and their partner Neos – Culdcept BEGINS and Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute we’re available to play at Draughts, found in the rather dramatic arches of Leake Street.

Culdcept is a series of turn-based strategy games in which players progress across a virtual board game-like map, using magic cards and creatures to battle opponents and become the most skillful, high-scoring ‘Cepter’. It’s often described as a hybrid of Magic: The Gathering and Monopoly, and that’s a REALLY good description.
