TO VICTORY! Matt Broughton spoke to Victory Films’ CSO/Strategic Director and

Producer, Lee Kirton, about being part of a team of creative professionals who understand both storytelling and marketing

Tell us a bit about your industry background and how you came to be at Victory Films? I began my career in the games industry in 1997 at GT Interactive, driven by a lifelong passion for both video games and film. Working in PR in the UK, I had the opportunity to support some incredible titles including Driver, Duke Nukem, and Oddworld. At school I was fascinated by filmmaking and narrative, while at home I was an avid gamer. Although PR was my entry point, I was always eager to expand my knowledge beyond my job description. Developers trusted me to represent their

games, whether through demonstrating, media presentations, show-floor appearances, or pitching for major editorial coverage. During my time at ATARI, I also had the opportunity to work on major film licenses, something that perfectly combined my passions for games and movies. Titles such as THE TERMINATOR, Mission: Impossible, War of the Worlds, Enter the Matrix, and The Matrix: Path of Neo.

14 | MCV/DEVELOP May/June 2026 I later became Marketing &

Communications Director at Bandai Namco Entertainment UK. In that role I led campaigns for major titles including Tekken, Ace Combat, Demon’s Souls, the Dark Souls series, The Witcher, Little Nightmares, and Elden Ring, whilst creating cinematic assets, trailers and stunts. After the launch of Elden Ring (which

for me was a pinnacle) I made the decision several months later to leave the business to focus on new personal objectives.
