Packaging Innovation Ebba says: “We can see that the entire paper industry is

on a mission to find new innovative and beautiful solutions and materials. The possibilities of creating new sustainable luxury packaging design and solutions are endless. Today, paper is not a simple white sheet but a wide selection of colours, finishes and textures.” It is evident that luxury brands can see the importance of a packaging solution that reflects their brand and values, and Ebba tells us the demand for high-end packaging solutions has increased at the same rate as e-commerce has for the past few years! “There are many luxury brands that are committed to reducing their negative impact on the environment. The packaging needs to reflect this, yet at the same time, represent and reflect the graphical profile,” she explains. So, how can you make paper feel like more than paper?

Earlier in 2022, Lessebo Paper launched a new service of having the possibility to add a unique surface texture or embossing to the sheet. The Lessebo Texture range is an offering of 16 standard patterns, from Buckram embossing texture to a rough leather 3D surface. “Embossed paper is one of our new offerings to the luxury packaging market, something that has gained recognition since launch and many brands are seeking this special service,” says Ebba. “Another service to the luxury packaging market is that we

can develop a special colour of the paper. This enables high end brands to have their own ‘brand colour’ coloured to the sheet. In essence, this offer means that you do not have to print the colour onto the packaging, instead the paper itself already has the right shade. There are many positive aspects of having a coloured paper instead of a white paper that has

been printed, one of them is that the surface is more resistant toward scratches,” she adds. Lessebo Paper hasn’t stopped there. In November 2022 they launched their newest offer to the packaging market – an entirely new range of coloured papers called Lessebo Colours. “This range consists of a curated palette of 48 shades, in 80 gsm up to 600 gsm. The 48 shades are developed specially to meet the colour trends which we can see in the luxury packaging segment.”
