Watt lies ahead? For Hisense, artificial intelligence and connected technology are becoming increasingly important tools in helping households reduce energy, water and food waste. The manufacturer is integrating these technologies across its latest laundry, cooling and dishwashing products, with the aim of making more sustainable appliance use simpler for consumers. Matthew Glynn, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Hisense, says: “Today’s consumers are increasingly looking for appliances that make sustainable living simple, effective and cost-efficient.” Across laundry and dishwashing, Hisense


now offers appliances achieving A-rated energy efficiency, while its latest products combine this with technology designed to respond to how an appliance is actually being used. AI Super Wash, for example, automatically


optimises washing cycles according to the load, with Hisense reporting reductions of up to 55 per cent in energy consumption and 21 per cent in water use. Auto Dose complements this by dispensing the appropriate quantity of detergent for each wash, helping prevent unnecessary use. Hisense’s new 5i Series and 7i Series laundry collections take this further with AI Super Wash and AI Super Dry, automatically adjusting cycles according to load and fabric type. Mr Glynn explains: “AI is playing an

Humidity-controlled storage is also being used to tackle food waste, including the Cool Fresh Box and Vacuum Fresh Door, while Hisense is exploring how connected technology can help consumers make better use of food they already have. Its Dish Designer feature can scan the contents of the fridge and suggest recipes based on available ingredients, preferences and dietary requirements. “While energy efficiency remains crucial,


reducing food waste is rapidly becoming one of the most important sustainability considerations for consumers,” Mr Glynn says. Connecting many of these features is the ConnectLife app, which enables consumers to remotely monitor and control compatible appliances and track energy use.
