range offers a compelling overall package that combines energy-efficient washing programmes and functionality with an attractive price-performance ratio.”

Premium appliance manufacturer, Miele is proud to have upgraded all of the 60cm dishwashers in its collection (including within its G 5000 and G 7000 ranges) to energy efficiency rating A.

With almost 100 years of experience in dishwashing technology, Miele’s upgrade delivers market-leading energy efficiency across all price points, addressing one of the most important purchasing criteria for today’s consumers. The brand’s G 5000 series - representing the entry point into the Miele dishwasher range - now achieves an outstanding rating for energy efficiency by striking an optimal balance between reduced power consumption, adjusted programme running times, and refined temperature controls. With this redesign, energy performance is significantly improved without compromising wash quality or drying performance. One key feature contributing to this efficiency is the AutoOpen automatic door opening function, which is now included as standard. Previously not available on all models, AutoOpen switches off the heating phase at the end of the programme and opens the door slightly. This allows targeted air circulation to remove residual moisture naturally, improving drying results while reducing energy

his comprehensive update demonstrates Miele’s leadership in energy-efficient dishwashing, further reinforcing its position as a brand committed to sustainable innovation.

consumption. This solution also helps prevent damage to surrounding cabinetry, an important consideration for protecting the durability and aesthetic of fitted kitchens. In the higher-specification G 7000 range, further functionality is included to enhance performance and user experience. This includes the AutoDos automatic dosing aid with integrated PowerDisk, which dispenses the correct amount of detergent for each cycle. This ensures consistent cleaning results and prevents under or overdosing - an added benefit for consumers seeking both convenience and efficiency. What’s more, G 7000 models that already held QuietMark certification will continue to carry this accreditation, offering peace of mind for customers who value low-noise operation, particularly important in open-plan or compact living environments. Commenting on the upgrade, Dr. Michael

Junker, Senior Vice President Business Unit Dishwashing at Miele, said “Sustainability is part of our basic setup – even in the entry-level class, where we’ve actually achieved leaps in energy efficiency of up to three label classes. Our goal was to establish environmentally friendly dishwashing as a basic expectation, not as an optional extra. Our revamped dishwasher

As with all Miele dishwashers and the majority of Miele’s appliances, the upgraded models have been tested to last for the equivalent of 20 years. This long-term product lifespan supports the brand’s overarching sustainability goals, by reducing the need for replacement and minimising environmental impact across the full product life cycle. With this latest update, Miele underlines its belief that energy efficiency should be a standard expectation rather than a premium feature. The alignment of performance, sustainability, and design across its dishwasher portfolio offers a powerful message for today’s energy- and environmentally-conscious consumer. Tom Hopper, Kitchen Category Manager at Miele GB adds, “This portfolio upgrade reflects what we are seeing in showrooms and retail settings - customers expect more from their appliances, and they’re looking to make long- term, sustainable choices. By making A-rated energy efficiency standard across our 60cm dishwashers, we’re helping retailers meet this demand while maintaining Miele’s hallmark quality and functionality.” For independent electrical retailers, the significance of this update is twofold. First, it provides an enhanced sales proposition, allowing retailers to offer premium dishwashing solutions with the highest energy efficiency rating across a broader range of price points. Second, it strengthens customer confidence in both product performance and long-term value. Miele continues to invest in its retailer partnerships through training, point-of-sale materials, and dedicated support. This latest development presents a strong opportunity for retailers to engage customers seeking future-ready appliances that combine energy performance, advanced functionality and proven durability - all backed by the reassurance of a globally respected brand.
