hat’s right, summer has been and (almost) gone. This one’s had its fair share of hot bursts and cooler spells, but
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. My girlfriend and I are keen hikers, hence the sunny image of Hastings!
I hope you’ve all managed to make the most of it too, catching up with friends and family, soaking up the long evenings. There’s nothing quite like summertime in Britain. Winter… well, we’ll save that conversation for another day. But back to business. I’m delighted to share that our ERT and Sony training partnership is back for its second year. This fully online platform is designed to give you the confidence to tackle customers’ trickiest questions. It’s flexible enough to fit around shop-floor life, and this year we’ve added a new twist - gamification. Think points, prizes, and a competitive edge that makes learning more fun, more engaging, and more rewarding than ever.
That same spirit of connection is exactly what makes the ERT Awards such a highlight in the calendar. The finalists are announced, tickets are on sale, and the countdown is officially on. In this issue, you’ll also meet Peter Spencer, the new Managing Director at Glen Dimplex Home Appliances. He’s steering the company into an ambitious new chapter, strengthening the Belling and Stoves brands, building closer ties with retailers, and ensuring customers enjoy a seamless experience from first discovery through years of ownership. We’ve got the lowdown on Loewe, with Francesa Sedan catching up with the team to talk about their exciting new partnership. Over at Midea, Julia Livett shares the brand’s
journey so far and gives us a peek at some of their latest refrigeration launches. And if that’s not enough, we’re diving into two buzzing categories, eco appliances and home entertainment, both packed with opportunities for retailers ready to keep pace with changing customer needs. IFA is just around the corner; we’ll be packing our bags and heading out at the start of September. See you there! Enjoy the issue.
