water dispensers on the market to deliver fast-flow hot or cold filtered water on demand. Offering 49 potential combinations, users can select from seven temperature options, from chilled through to boiled, and seven volume options, from 200ml to one litre.
Explains Graeme Rodgers, Category Manager at Strix: “The Aurora saves energy and water by only boiling the water you need and has been awarded the Quiet Mark, making it one of the quietest 20 per cent of appliances in its category!” Mr Rodgers says that for a long time in the SDA
Fancy a cuppa?
An eco-friendly kettle option comes courtesy of Strix and the new multifunction LAICA Dual Flo kettle and hot water dispenser – it only boils the water you need, up to 1.5 litres or just boil and dispense one cup at the touch of a button. Fast and convenient, it can dispense between 150-250ml in 45 seconds for a quick cuppa. Meanwhile, under Strix’s Aqua Optima brand,
there’s also the new Aurora Instant Hot & Cold Filtered Water Dispenser. Powered by

technology, it is a kettle, water cooler and water filter all in one, and one of the only plug-and-go
sector, innovation was limited to shape or colour, but he believes that appliance brands are now genuinely re-evaluating products such as the kettle and introducing new functionality. Coming soon by LAICA will be Visione, a cordless, auto-switch off induction hob top kettle; the prototype has already been awarded the German Design Award and Red Dot Design Award 2022. “Watch this space,” says Mr Rodgers. From a cuppa tea to a cuppa joe… the at-home coffee market has boomed massively in the last few years, thanks mostly to lockdown and people still craving their caffeine fix.
The Ariete range includes the Metal Slim Espresso Coffee Maker (AR1380) – with its sleek brushed stainless-steel body and at only 14cm wide, it’s great for those kitchens that are limited on space. Users can create rich and intense espresso coffee and the perfect cappuccino with the steam dispenser, whether users choose ground coffee and ESE pods. The AR1380 also has a hot water dispenser.
Making a statement
A relatively new brand in the UK market is Kaiser, a German manufacturer that launched here earlier this year.
Its bell-shaped vintage style Empire
electric kettle is a real statement piece, coming in Bordeaux Red, Ivory and Black, and boasting a two litre capacity. Yet despite its size, it is lightweight. Says company Director, Niko Skarlatos: “It’s an
exciting time for Kaiser and we’re looking forward to disrupting the traditional appliance market in the UK!”
Elsewhere, you’ve got Siemens and its EQ.700
coffee machine (pictured below), which the brand promises to produce a cup of coffee to rival that of your favourite barista! The five-inch iSelect touch display is easy to operate; users simply swipe through a menu of nine different coffee options and the addition of aromaSelect offers a choice of three aroma settings (mild, balanced, or distinctive) without changing the strength of the coffee. “A bonus for coffee lovers,” adds Nova King, Head of Category, Consumer Products, BSH Home Appliances, “is you can choose from up to 21 specialities from 10 different countries via the Home Connect app.” Oh, the choices! As one of the fastest-growing SDA distributors and manufacturers in Europe, RKW is expanding its own Tower offering to international markets. >>
