ERT AWARDS 2023

Best Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer – Small Winner

Dacombes of Wimborne 36

Dacombes of Wimborne celebrated its Centenary last year. Its 5,000sq ft destination store has seen a lot of changes in recent years, not least the unveiling of a new home cinema demo room. Working closely with a few key manufacturers, the retailer wanted to create a ‘wow’ factor

featuring some of its best products to create an immense movie watching and listening experience for customers. On top of this, the store also features a multi-media room, complete with motorised projector screen and 5.1 sound system, and a smart home apartment including networking and Wi-Fi infrastructure and multi- room audio, plus a huge range of TV, audio and accessory products. “I would like to think that the ERT judges could see our passion and drive for the business,” comments Managing Director, Matt Renaut. “It’s amazing to be recognised for all the hard work we’ve put in over the years to create the store we have today. It’s great for my staff who get stopped in the street and congratulated by our customers! “Winning this award truly brings attention to how good, not just we

are, but every forward-thinking retailer that enters the ERT Awards.” Mr Renaut adds that the event is a crucial platform to keep acknowledging the industry’s hard work and to appreciate the outstanding efforts of the individuals and businesses that go the extra mile. It’s also great fun and brings everyone in this wonderful industry together!”

Best Industry Sales Representative Winner

Duncan Williams – D.A.D

“Newly promoted to Sales Director, Duncan consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service and support to our customers and our team,” comments Alison Taylor, Managing Director of D.A.D. “Duncan’s dedication to his customers is evident in the way he

approaches each and every account,” she goes on. “He takes the time to understand their unique needs and goals and offers tailored solutions to meet those needs.” Reflecting on winning the Best Industry Sales Representative trophy,

Mr Williams says it is a great accolade and an honour to receive such a prestigious industry award…

“I am so passionate about what I do to support our retail customers

around the country in such a challenging market. “Since winning the award I have thanked all my colleagues for their ongoing support within D.A.D, and I’ve also thanked my customers for their votes during the nomination process.”

Having joined D.A.D in 2013 in a telesales position, Mr Williams’ ability to build strong, lasting relationships with his customers has been a major contributor to the company’s growth, it said. In recent years he has moved through the roles of Regional Sales Manager and National Account Manager, all the time increasing his sales figures and developing his understanding of his customers’ businesses and securing lasting, long-term partnerships with them. Ms Taylor concludes: “Duncan is a team player and always willing to go the extra mile to help his colleagues, heading up his new team with passion and enthusiasm, and he is always willing to share his knowledge and expertise.”
