ERT AWARDS 2023
Best Independent Domestic Appliances Retailer – Large Winner
Donaghy Brothers 24
Donaghy Brothers was the recipient of two awards at this year’s ERT Awards! Firstly the coveted Turning Point Award, but it also picked up the trophy for Best Independent Domestic Appliances Retailer – Large. “Once again this is a credit to our people,” Managing Director, James Donaghy, tells ERT. “We invest in our staff and constantly strive for excellence on all levels. We always aim to offer our customers a top quality service – and this has been recognised by this award. “We now have two fantastic showrooms – both designed with the customer in mind. Across our stores and our website we offer an extensive portfolio of over 20,000 products from all the big industry- leading brands. Plus, we monitor the market to ensure that we are always competitively priced.” Donaghy Brothers puts an emphasis on the shopping experience, with several dedicated demo areas across the two stores, including Samsung and Miele cookery zones and Quooker tap demo areas. The retailer recently invested over £2 million in the relaunch of its 16,000sq ft Limavady showroom, showcasing over 750 products with premium bespoke brand displays. As well as this, in the past year it has increased its van fleet to assist with providing its next-day delivery and installation service throughout Northern Ireland. “Independent retailers like ourselves work really hard,” says Mr Donaghy. “We are ambitious and passionate about what we do, and we are extremely proud of

Best New Product – Major Domestic Appliances Winner
AEG LFR94846WS Absolute Care Washing Machine
The new AEG laundry range launched last year; the LFR94846WS washing machine is its Absolute Care model, focused on caring for garments and fabrics, by using salt to soften water especially in hard water areas. This new range also features the first-to-market washing machine that holds pods in the drawer and pierces with a water jet, pre-mixing before entering the drum. This improves results and gives a more even wash than placing a pod in the drum.
Michael White, Channel Manager – Electrical Retail Independents at
Electrolux Group, says: “AEG aims to combine meaningful innovation and solutions for its customers, alongside its commitment to energy saving and sustainability. Our Absolute Care Washing Machine delivers on all those fronts. We are continually looking to innovate and challenge the expected by creating features and benefits that are meaningful, and couple with an appealing design for its customers.” Mr White says that it’s important for the ERT Awards to share success and champion the great things happening across the industry. “The Awards is a great way for the industry to come together. In
recent years, we’ve really increased our contribution to the industry and we’re proud to have been a sustainability partner of the ERT awards. “It’s been a big year for the team here at AEG. It is a huge honour for us to be acknowledged and recognised by ERT for our innovation and commitment to sustainable, pioneering products is a fantastic achievement.”
