The sound coming out of my new TV was not 40


great, so I wanted to bolster it with a sound bar or sound base. Andie greeted me and asked if he could help. He got down to work explaining that, in his opinion, the best models to consider are sound bars that come with a separate subwoofer. Andie said that he keeps his subwoofer behind the sofa, explaining that they connect to the sound bar via Bluetooth. Andie showed me a clearance line as the JBL model (SB450) was priced at £132.36. He then said that his product recommendation


was a Yamaha model (YAS207), which was priced at £269.99. Andie mentioned that the product comes with a subwoofer and he also mentioned that using the Bluetooth function, I could stream music from my smartphone or tablet.


Currys PC World Megastore, St David’s


Shopping Centre THIS store is located on the busy ground floor of the shopping centre and is situated between the Disney Store and EE. I was looking to buy a pair of over-ear headphones. Inside the store, I walked past a member of staff who was working at a computer and I started to browse the headphones that were displayed just yards from where the man was standing. There were 18 pairs of headphones on display,


ranging in price from £59.99 for a pair of Goji headphones (GTCONRG18) to the Beats by Dr Dre (Studio 3) cans, which were priced at £299.99. The display was frankly a bit of a mess, as products


were not aligned to their boxes and a number of products were not priced. After five minutes of browsing, and the man still working at the computer, I left the store.

Kitchens Cookshop,


High Street THIS Steamer Trading-owned store is located on a pedestrianised shopping street, sandwiched – no pun intended – between two food and drink establishments. With the long nights setting in and the weather


getting colder, I was keen to buy a soup maker. I was greeted by a store greeter on the street directly out the store, who handed me a copy of the retailer’s Christmas brochure. Inside the store, I located the small domestic appliances display and two products caught my eye. The first was an AEG model (Gourmet Pro Blender), which indicated on the box that it had a capacity of 2.2 litres. There was no price ticket on display. The second product I saw was a Cuisinart model (Soup Maker Plus), which was priced at £139.95. The price ticket detailed the key functions of the product and it also highlighted that the model comes with a three-year warranty. With no approach, I left the store.
