rise is indicative of a strong consumer demand for appliances that use less energy without compromising on quality.”
As well as optimising energy usage, Bosch is always working to improve, adapting its range of appliances to better meet the needs of consumers. For freezers, Bosch’s NoFrost technology
removed the need for consumers to manually defrost their freezer. Instead, cool, dry air is circulated to prevent ice formation, and the humidity is collected in a separate chiller unit which regularly defrosts automatically, channelling the condensation outside of the appliance where it can evaporate. This indirectly aids energy usage with the appliance, as the freezer can run optimally without the build-up of frost affecting performance. Mr. Duran says, “Most of Bosch’s freestanding cooling appliances now include NoFrost technology, but from 2026, we aim for all built-in fridge freezer models to feature NoFrost too.”
New products to meet new demands With these new demands taking an ever increasing significance in consumers’ buying decisions, its important there is a range of products available to cater to these. And Bosch’s latest range of XXL products does just that. Take the Bosch KFD96APEA for example. This fridge freezer is one of the sought after multi-door models, coming with an impressive 375 litre fridge capacity along with just 399 litres of freezer space. This product is ideal for those looking to store more of the everyday essentials and as well as special occasion items like party food or large cakes which are often susceptible to damage or simply don’t fit in smaller models. The KFD96APEA also features the VitaFresh
XXL Pro system, Bosch’s freshness preservation system, which utilities climate-control technology to preserve the quality of fresh food. By maintaining the optimum temperatures for meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, the VitaFresh 0ºC, and VitaFresh XXL drawer help to reduce unnecessary food waste, keeping the food fresh for longer.
With the fan-assisted MultiAirflow System, cold air is circulated throughout the appliance to minimise temperature fluctuations to retain an even temperature in all fridge and freezer compartments. The freezer compartment in this model even comes with NoFrost technology.
Sustainability
While this model and others in the range cater for the changing consumer needs, sustainability is another area which is a focus for every aspect of BSH.
Sustainability is an overarching focus for the company and we are leading the way with inventive solutions that help minimise the environmental impact, while also benefitting the consumer by reducing energy and water consumption.
“As we all know, sustainability is something that everybody is more conscious of. To continue to meet this demand, we are reducing carbon emission in the production stage of a new range we’re releasing later this year. This new collection answers calls for more environmentally conscious products with appliances using 50% less carbon emissions to produce.” “This not only supports our steps toward
a more sustainable future but also affords consumers greater choice over their personal carbon footprint.”
Supporting retailers In a competitive market, retailers need more than just quality appliances, they need the right tools and knowledge to drive sales effectively. Knowing this, Bosch strives to provide
comprehensive resources that help its retail partners connect with consumers and highlight unique product benefits. “When providing product demonstrations,” says Mr. Duran, “we encourage retailers to utilise interactive displays which are an excellent way to showcase features in action.” “With cooling appliances, a fridge stocked
with fresh vegetables and other foods can show freshness technologies like VitaFresh in action, while storing items like large cakes on
the shelves communicates the benefit of larger capacity fridge in a tangible way.” With consumer purchasing decisions influenced by cost-of-living concerns and sustainability values, Bosch offers a wide range of A and B rated energy efficient appliances. To highlight the value, retailers can use Bosch’s energy saving calculator and work out the running costs of the appliance over the five- year warranty. Bosch fridge freezers also recently achieved a new accreditation launched by Which? for 5* reliability, awarded to brands and categories with the lowest proportion of appliances that develop a fault in the first seven years and the proportion that subsequently require a repairs or replacements. This accreditation provides added reassurance for consumers and stands as a testament to the build quality of Bosch. And with a team of over 350 specialised engineers, BSH offer one of the best customer service offerings in the UK. “Directly employed and trained by BSH, our engineers have unrivalled knowledge when it comes to our appliances, so should the consumer experience any issues with their appliance, they can access expert support and technical repair services which also improve the appliances longevity.”
