Homeware and SDA’s poised for growth At The Inspired Home Show 2025, Joe Derochowski, Circana’s Home Industry Advisor, delivered an optimistic message to attendees, forecasting steady growth for the housewares industry through 2030. “There’s no place like home,” said Joe
Derochowski, Circana’s home industry advisor, highlighting that the demand for home products would continue to rise both in units and dollars. Mr Derochowski’s session, “Thinking Outside the Box: Growth Opportunities for the Housewares Industry,” highlighted several trends driving
growth, such as the replacement of items purchased during the pandemic, more people eating and entertaining at home due to inflation, and weather-related home goods purchases. He also noted that “consumers are prioritising needs over discretionary purchases” in the current inflationary cycle, which he referred to as a “needs-based purchasing cycle.” Mr Derochowski also addressed the accelerating role of AI, advising suppliers to use it as a tool to solve consumer pain points rather than merely positioning it as a benefit. AI’s potential, he said, will transform consumer experiences in ways similar to the internet in the 1990s.

Colour expert Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman revealed why “Welcome Home” was chosen as the theme for the Pantone View Home + Interiors 2026 forecast.
Ms Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, said:“These are two words that express the most deep-seated and intrinsic human needs,” she said. “A welcoming

home provides the roof over our heads, whether it’s a city flat or a country cottage.” Ms Eiseman explained that the 2026 colour
trends are deeply rooted in the past, with a mix of different eras. “When people are uncertain about the future, they invariably look to the past,” she quoted Vanessa Friedman, Fashion Director of The New York Times. The palettes for 2026 are also influenced by the 2025 Pantone Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse, which she described as an “evocative, soft brown that transports our senses into thoughts of pleasure and deliciousness.”
