FOUNDED IN 1931, LBS has grown to become a strong independent builders’ merchants with 16 outlets in South West Wales, supplying a comprehensive range of building materials to the DIY, Self Build, Developer, Building, Roofing and Civil Engineering industries. With a head office in Llandeilo, LBS has grown to include 12 Merchant Branches, a Home Centre and specialist Civils and Roofing businesses with branches from Maesteg in the East to Cardigan in the West.

LORDS IS A family business established for over 30 years, comprising builders’ merchants, an architectural ironmongery company and retail shops.


It’s first branch was at Edmonton in North London in 19832, followed by Westbourbne Grive in 1987, Park Royal in 200 and Hayes in 2012. A further branch in Beasonsfield was added in January 2017, but prior to that, the company acquired the George Lines architectural ironmongery business in Slough. In October 2017, it bought Hevey Building Supplies in Northampton, followed by fellow h&b buying group member Kings Langley Building Supplies Limited (KLBS Ltd). KLBS Ltd operates from three sites in the home counties – Kings Langley, Aylesbury and Watford. The group’s most recent investment, in December 2019, was to acquire the majority shareholding in APP Wholesale Ltd, a leading plumbing distribution
