JOHN A STEPHENS WAS formed in 1967, operating from a seven acre site in central Nottingham plus a second outlet located in West Bridgford not far from the city’s test cricket ground.

FOUNDED IN 1965 by late chairman John Nicholls, the company has grown organically across Oxfordshire and beyond. In 2014, it acquired the J&B’s Plumbing and Heating business in Bournemouth, which opened up its strength in plumbing and heating and also added new bathroom showrooms. The company then developed the specialist Bathroom Solutions brand, this was then followed by the Kitchen Solutions brand in 2016.
