Bent who grew and sold roses from the front garden of their terraced house – a short distance away from the centre’s current location in Warrington. The centre remains a family-run business, as Emma Kelly, head of operations, says “The business is now in its third generation, headed by Matthew Bent and supported by sisters, Helen, Katherine and Rachel all of whom work within the business. Before becoming managing director, the business was run by Matthew’s parents, Ron and Wendy Bent and Ron’s brother John, who together started the journey from a small rose growing business to what is now a multi-million-pound operation. The Bents’ family business now employs over 350 colleagues and attracts in excess of 25,000 customers per week.” Whilst never straying from its gardening heritage, Bents saw expansion opportunities in the introduction of home and lifestyle
