How did you get involved in franchising? It was by chance, as an NHS and Social Care Manager, I was always being told by providers how hard it was to deliver good care … this got me thinking and my research led me to Bluebird Care, it became clear quite quickly that you could provide good care (and beyond) and that this was something I wanted to offer my local community.

What is your career highlight? Reaching the 15-year milestone has been very gratifying, knowing that each day we are supporting individuals locally and growing a committed and excellent team.


What was your childhood dream job? I wanted to be a doctor but failed to choose the right options at GCSE, so that dream faded quite quickly!


Who has been the biggest influence on your career? Definitely my wife and fellow Director, Sara. She is always pushing me to be better and not settle for the status quo!


How do you relax? We are very lucky to be within walking distance of surfing beaches in South Devon, so that’s how I relax best – in the sea, surfing!


Tell us a little-known fact about you… In a charity rugby tournament I passed the ball to Will Greenwood (of World-Cup- winning England team fame) to score and win the game...


What’s your drink of choice? Coffee. I am smitten!


And your perfect holiday destination? I have discovered snowboarding in the last year and so right now I am loving this experience, I love that you are outdoors all day, mastering a new skill and that we can do this as a family.


Who would be your dream dinner party guests? Of course, my wife Sara! But from the heart, I would say one more dinner with my late father would be a dream come true. In terms of historical figures, I’m fascinated by Nelson Mandela and Ernest Shackleton. They had uncompromising belief and determination, but what were they like as people?
