Cheong and Magdalene, a dynamic husband-and- wife team whose drive and professionalism perfectly reflect the brand’s values. Originally from Singapore, Cheong and


Magdalene have each carved out successful careers in the UK. Cheong, a qualified optometrist, previously owned and operated two Specsavers branches before selling them in a successful exit. Magdalene comes from a logistics background and now runs a portfolio of residential properties. Together, they bring a powerful blend of business acumen and people-focused experience – qualities


that make them a fantastic addition to the Nurses UK family. After reviewing several franchise opportunities, the


couple chose Orpington as the base for their new Nurses UK branch. As the first franchisees, they had the freedom to select their ideal territory – and they made their choice after a careful look at Nurses UK’s detailed mapping and market analysis.


Why healthcare, and why Nurses UK? On what attracted them to the healthcare sector, Cheong explains: “We had two main criteria when looking at franchises. We wanted to invest in a business with consistent demand, and one that allowed us to give something meaningful back to the community we work in.” The decision to join Nurses UK came down to trust
