Life CASE STUDY IN CARE… A commitment to care with a leading

provider – Home Instead’s Sarah and Chris Daly go from strength to strength

S

arah Daly has been part of Home Instead’s growing franchise network since 2012. Now a multi-unit franchisee – owning Home Instead Guildford and Woking, as well as Home Instead Godalming, and launching

Home Instead Elmbridge shortly – Sarah has demonstrated her commitment to the brand. Currently caring for 130 clients, employing

over 75 Care Professionals and with an annual turnover of more than £3.5million, Sarah holds ambitions for further growth – showing a dedication to her team and their development, and a passion to continuously do things better. Following a role in corporate printing, Sarah

was keen to find a new path that would bring career fulfilment and the opportunity to make a difference, as well as strike a work- life balance while raising her young family. Conversation with friends that were already

Home Instead franchisees sparked Sarah’s interest, when her own local territory then became available. Following a meeting with Home Instead’s COO Ruth Brown, Sarah seized the opportunity to run her own business as part of this sector-leading franchise, excited to embark on her new path. Sarah says: “Finding out about Home

Instead really opened my eyes to the support available within a franchise brand, rather than starting a business alone. From quality to standards, marketing to finance, becoming a franchisee really elevates your success rate and this was something that appealed to me.” In September 2012, Sarah bought Home

Instead Guildford and Woking as a resale business, allowing her to hit the ground running and see the business thrive, with husband Chris joining in 2015. Having weathered the storm of COVID-19 thanks to the support of Home Instead’s National Office, Sarah and Chris reconfirmed their commitment to the brand, becoming multi- unit operators with another resale franchise in 2022, purchasing a neighbouring territory – Home Instead Godalming. A larger franchise

“Proud to be part of Home Instead and provide market-leading care”

in terms of size, with a more rural area, the couple saw this as an opportunity to further embed themselves into a new community, and their latest acquisition, in Elmbridge, borders their existing business, presenting an exciting opportunity to relaunch the Home Instead brand within the area. Sarah says: “There is such a sense of

community across our territories. I am a church warden and it’s a great way to connect with those in our local area. I’m so proud to be part of the Home Instead brand and to provide market-leading care to the residents within our territories. Home Instead has a passion to do things better which, in turn, makes our competitors do the same and really improves the home care landscape. I hope the legacy we leave behind is one that made a difference.” Sarah and Chris continue their Home

Instead ownership journey, empowering their team to continue their commitment to the brand, the mission and the positive impact they have on the community and wider home care sector. l
