Young entrepreneurs in franchising

“The sky is not the limit, it’s just a view”

community it provides. “Working as part of a wider company and having others to relate to was far more enticing than being lonely in the field. The strength of a franchising brand is far greater than starting on my own,” she confirms. Shaped by personal ambition and the

drive to prove herself, Wafa explains: “My dad is a businessman, and I guess that inspired me to want to do better than him!” and she says that despite being relatively young: “I knew my potential and needed an environment where I could let that shine.” Just six months in and one of Wafa’s Care

At just 24, Wafa Mohbubul is owner of Home Instead Broadstairs, Ramsgate & Margate. Having started her journey as a Care Professional, she quickly climbed the ladder to ownership

hat started as an evening job for Wafa became the launchpad for a bold entrepreneurial leap. She began her journey with Home Instead Canary Wharf

as a Care Professional and was instantly inspired by the values and professionalism she witnessed. “I wasn’t just drawn to care – I was drawn to how Home Instead does care,” she says. “No other provider in the care industry could compete.” Franchising appealed to Wafa because of the structure, support network and sense of

Professionals, Yasmin Crouch, won the Care Professional of the Year, a national award and an achievement never seen before in her territory. “It was the biggest standout moment for me,” Wafa highlights. “For a Care Professional to win just six months after I took over is such an incredible achievement for us. I was adamant when I first joined that we would nominate someone, and to see Yasmin win was amazing!” Owning a franchise has shifted Wafa’s personal

goals as she explains, “Instead of dreaming about working my way up the corporate ladder, I now plan on having 10 franchises in the UK and internationally – the goal's only got bigger! When I was younger, I was told ‘the sky is not the limit, it’s just a view’, and I really see the meaning of that now!” Wafa strongly encourages other young people

to consider a franchise. “It's far better than starting your own company. Unfortunately, a lot of start-ups fail in the first year, but a franchise offers a much higher chance of success, lower risk and ongoing support.” Wafa plans to expand her franchise footprint

to become a multi-unit Home Instead owner and has ambitions to even buy a safari in Africa as a personal retreat and employee reward. “I’d love to offer an all-expenses paid trip to my safari as a benefit to employees doing great work, that would be the dream!” With a clear vision and proven results, Wafa is building a business with real impact – on her community, her team and the future of care, helping to set new standards for what young entrepreneurs can achieve in the sector.
