What led you to franchising with More Than Loft Ladders? I worked in education and recruitment for around 7-8 years after graduating but have always had an interest in home improvements., plus getting out and about beats sitting in front of a computer any day! I reached out to More Than Loft
Ladders (MTLL) and, after a chat with Liam, the owner, I visited the head office, where everyone was extremely welcoming. They clearly know how to set up a business – their passion to help others really shone through. The training was great, MTLL
have a dedicated training rig at their head office where you can practice before going out on jobs with a member of staff from head office. Mixed in with the practical element is training on sales, marketing and MTLL’s internal systems. From initial contact, to carrying out my first job after my training, was around 10-12 weeks!

How is business going so far? Great! In the first 12 months I’ve turned over £350k! I really enjoy meeting different people every day and making a difference to their lives. The only big challenge I have had so far is trying to fit it all in!
Any standout moments? The moment you complete your first job is great! Mine was a large undertaking, but very rewarding having the positive feedback from the customer.
Any advice for those considering running their own franchise? Go for it! The home improvement sector continues to grow and as contemporary houses are built with very little storage in them, this sector really will flourish.
As for More Than Loft Ladders, it’s family-owned and run – by people who care about their network.
What does the future hold? I’ve recently taken on two additional areas and a third installer. I’m really looking forward to building on the first year’s success!
Final thoughts? Don’t ponder it for too long and miss out on a great opportunity. As long as you are prepared to work hard, promote your business and put the hours in at the start, there’s no real reason why you can’t do as well – or even better – than I have!
