hen Vicky and Paul Butler launched their Right at Home franchise on the Isle of Wight in 2021, they couldn’t have imagined


how profoundly it would change their lives… or the lives of those around them. In the last four years, the husband-and-wife


team have built a thriving homecare business with an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – an accolade achieved by just 3% of providers nationally, compared to 34% across Right at Home’s network. Their journey has also earned them multiple awards and widespread recognition from the local


community, including praise from the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight for their community initiatives. “We still have our moments – they call it imposter


syndrome,” says Paul. “We think ‘is this really us doing this?,’ especially when we win awards.” “We’re quite blown away when we look back on the


journey. There’s no way we could have achieved all this without a great franchise behind us,” adds Vicky. Before care, Vicky was a chartered accountant


and business owner; Paul, a former soldier turned operations planner. Their pivot to care was sparked by personal tragedy: Paul’s father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s before he reached retirement. “That was our first experience of care,” Vicky recalls. “It just made us think that we
