ONE YEAR ON…
Ed Gill
Ed Gill went from his role of recruitment manager at Radfield Home Care to becoming or hirs edale fra nchisee
How have you found the past year? ts been challenging fulfi lling frustrating eciting and enoyable. aing on y adfi eld oe are franchise defi nitely eceeded y epectations. Networing and building a business without an eisting client base can be daunting but with the strong support networ that eists the opportunity is there for anyone that is self otiated resilient and otiated to succeed. ou get so uch support fro the National ffi ce
tea who help with eerything plus haing peers in the networ that can ust pic up the phone and hae a conersation with is a benefi t people on the sae ourney as e who hae already trodden this path.
oes being in a netor bring benefi ts? bsolutely one of our fi rst clients was a referral fro a neighbouring territory. always taling about the fact that we are a national networ with locations how our nearest neighbour is ust oer in arrogate and all of a sudden people feel lie theyre not taling to a new start up business but one thats allied with a branch thats been there for oer years is looing after people etc. he power of our networ is really helpful. er of the networ being eal iing age
ccredited was a big draw for e. ts soething proud to clai for yself too. can gie people obs that are incredibly eaningful and personally satisfying not ust iniuwage runoftheill obs and that is soething thats etreely iportant to e. f we loo after our are rofessionals really well they will delier a highuality care serice to our clients. f all thining about is looing after the clients and not worrying about the staff theres a assie disconnect

and the serice will suffer. o thats what really enoy creating fantastic obs looing after are rofessionals and the offi ce tea and epowering the to proide eceptional care to clients.
What are your plans for the next year? y fi rst priority is to ensure that the new business that e created oer the past onths can grow fro the solid foundations the tea and hae created. a aiing to double y leel of business by the end of y second year and thats not because want to ae ore oney for e its about getting y wor life balance right giing e the freedo to get tie bac for yself when need it. o for eaple if want to go for a run on uesday orning at a now ll be able to do that.
Any advice for others? he fi rst thing is now your local aret place and now it lie the bac of your hand. now your copetition now what theyre charging now how theyre treating their staff and what the uality of care they delier is lie. hese things are really iportant when youre taling to people about deliering a high uality care serice. lso while it is really iportant to hae a fi r grasp
of the nubers genuinely beliee that to succeed in this sector you hae to be a people person. ont get e wrong you dont hae to be the type of person who wals down the street and stries a conersation with eery person they wal past but you hae to be able and willing to relate to people. hen you hae a are rofessional or a client calling you to as for support you hae to want to hae that conersation with the. beliee uite fi rly that the reason we are doing so well with our recruitent is because were inesting tie to listen to and understand people. ounication is always absolutely ey to success.
