-Press Legal Services franchise network witnessed their best year on record in 2020, helped in part by


various government initiatives which kept the property sector booming, but also aided by the innovations spearheaded by their national office team. X-Press Legal franchisees –


who provide property searches and reports to solicitors and conveyancing professionals – have seen demand for their service increase massively, with the Stamp Duty Holiday and lockdown prompting home owners to make the move to a larger or more suitable property. Managing director, Lynne


Lister, says: “Nobody expected the events of 2020, and like so many we have had to adjust and make changes, some of which we fully intend to retain once we get back to some form of normal. We need to support all our owners, and initially we were worried about would happen. But after an initial lull in the first lockdown, business took off with our franchise owners receiving high levels of orders for property searches from conveyancing solicitors.

had already anticipated that conveyancers would need to move more online. This meant that they needed secure processing of property search transactions, as homebuyers also embraced new digital technology. So, this was a real focus for us and our franchisees.” X-Press dedicated time


to ensuring their virtual environment was secure and are proud to be the first property search company to be accredited with ‘Cyber Essentials Plus’ verifying their IT systems are fully compliant and safe from cyber-attacks and threats. As


part of their support for franchise owners, this has meant that legal firms can be sure their data is in safe hands with X-Press, and this initiative has helped franchisees gain even more clients. Another franchise-focused initiative that X-Press has implemented successfully moving the network’s Continuous Personal Development (CPD) training online, which is a part of the marketing support provided. Franchisees use these to meet with both potential and existing clients, keeping them up to date with the latest updates in the property sector.
