What did you do before franchising and what prompted the change? I always wanted to run my own business. That desire then evolved more and more into wanting to start something in the fitness industry. The pandemic actually strengthened this ambition as I was ready to take the wheel myself and become my own boss. It was a period of reflection and really propelled me to seriously start thinking about my future.


How did you find out about TRIB3? I’m extremely passionate about all things sports and training and when I began thinking about my next career step, I started to do my own research into franchised boutique gym brands. To be honest, I still felt like I did not have enough knowledge and experience to start something from scratch so that’s why I began looking at franchising opportunities. I came across TRIB3 and really liked what the brand was offering.


Describe the process for getting on board, how long did it take? The first initial contact happened way faster than I had expected – which was really positive. Within a few days, I had my first video call with Vaughan and Karl, who introduced me to the brand and gave me more insights regarding the TRIB3 opportunity.

What was the initial training and support like? The level of support is absolutely amazing! Whatever you might need, whatever question you might have, someone is there for you to help you out and guide you. You have access to a great group of individuals and their immense knowledge and experience in their respective fields, which represents a value you cannot put a price tag on. It has been a great journey so far. I have already learnt and grown a lot through the ongoing conversations and the continuous guidance and support received. I’ve learned so much, especially in areas that I didn't have any previous knowledge about.


How has life changed since you joined? My work-life balance has only improved since joining. I have never been a Monday to Fri day, 9 to 5 person, it just never felt right for me. I am constantly thinking about TRIB3 because it revolves around the things I love and have a great passion for, so there’s never a dull moment. While there’s always something to do and work on, I do have the freedom to decide when I want to do what and how to design my days to my needs and preferences.


Any standout moments so far on your franchising journey? The evening my wife and I signed the franchise agreement. The excitement of having made that next step in realising our vision, made it an intense and memorable moment. But receiving a group video call from Kevin Yates, Karl and the team just a few minutes after signing the contract and them sharing our excitement, made for a truly special moment.


What advice would you give to anyone considering a franchise? Go ahead and take the first step. A lot of people are hesitant about the hurdles and problems that could arise with starting a new business but that’s exactly why a franchise is the perfect way to go. You get the experience and knowledge from people who know exactly what they’re doing, while also receiving a lot of support. I firmly believe that it’s important to listen to your gut, and if it feels right, go for it.


What are your ambitions for the future? Play our part in growing the global TRIB3 community, taking one step at a time, embracing and enjoying the journey. 
