Get down to business

"I would recommend this opport unity if you have a desire to create a lasting impact on businesses in the community that you work and live in"

with people, so we help with personal growth and development, reducing stress and anxiety levels, promoting fun and giving business owners more time to enjoy life outside of the business. We can also help improvement on the business’s top line, cost reduction, product quality, scalability and innovation.

Any standout moments so far? One particular standout moment is the belief I’ve received from ActionCOACH UK that I could build the franchise into what it is today. That belief has only continued, as I now build a team of 10 coaches to transform other businesses. I also had the pleasure of speaking in front of 300 people at the conference and sharing my experience in business as a coach and with my fellow coaches who have taught me so much.

Describe a typical day... There is no typical day as such. My day, however, is very structured. I work in the business, coaching, and then on the business to create growth. I like to operate on a default diary basis so I can get that all covered, and so much more. I help my clients adopt this way of running their business as well. I think it’s extremely important to have a plan and stick to it, so

anything else that gets completed is just a bonus. It’s a really rewarding way of working. To wind down, I like to spend time with

my kids, dog and livestock. We all enjoy getting involved on the farm, especially looking after my prize Hebridean sheep.

How has life changed since you launched your franchise? I work just four days a week and enjoy a halfway house between retirement and full-time employment. I met my wife while in Hong Kong and we often spend holidays in our house in Thailand, where I continue to coach online via video.

What qualities do franchisees need to work within this sector and to be successful? Persistence, knowledge and a deep desire to learn. The success of a business will come off the back of those things. To be successful, it’s also important to adapt your working, as the business landscape is constantly changing – you need to be relevant today.

What are your plans for the future? My next goal is to reach £50,000 a month in client income with a team of 10 coaches. Becoming the go-to place in Bristol for business coaching is my aim, which will, in turn, create prosperity in our community. We now have a 10-year plan to effect success in companies in Bristol.

Would you recommend this franchise opportunity to others? I would recommend this opportunity if you have a desire to create a lasting impact on businesses in the community that you work and live in. It is a fantastic franchise and will be the fi rst mainstream franchise for business coaching within the next three years.

Do you have any advice for aspiring franchisees? Go for it – be relentless! If you want to change where you are now and get to where you know you can be, invest in this franchise. Write a plan of what you want out of your life and take action.
