Papa John’s franchisee to open 20 stores

n Pizza franchise Papa John’s has announced that franchisee Amit “Rana” Abhol plans to open 20 stores by 2020. “These are ambitious goals but realistic ones,” says Rana, who has a degree in business from the University of Dublin. Rana is no stranger to the pizza industry. He was previously employed at a rival firm, based out of Northern Ireland, working his way up from taking phone orders to regional operations director over 15 years. He says: “Our latest opening in Solihull is just the start! We have completely refitted the store and aim to grow sales dramatically.” Rana acquired a further three stores back to back at the tail end of 2017. “I will add a further five Papa John’s to my portfolio in 2018 and aim to be running a

minimum of 20 within three years. These are likely to be a mixture of both new and existing stores.

“I was attracted to Papa John’s, as the company has a strong brand and proposition. The product quality is excellent and the concept of ‘better ingredients, better pizza’ is very popular. With around 350 UK stores, there is still so much potential to grow with the company, and as a result, I am joining at just the right time! “In my previous role, I was able to

increase revenues of stores – some by more than 500 per cent – and the knowledge and experience I bring to the table in terms of providing an excellent customer experience will be a key ingredient in our success. A hands-on approach, some sensible calculated decision making and adhering to Papa

ActionCOACH reaches 200 franchisees

n Having welcomed 27 franchise partners into the training room so far this year – including a record 12 in May alone – business services franchise ActionCOACH has revealed it has now reached the milestone of a total of 200 franchise partners in its network.

Commenting on what makes a good franchise partner, ActionCOACH UK co-founder Ian Christelow says: “Passion is a key consideration when awarding ActionCOACH franchises.” Franchise partner Mark Van Rol, who

has more than 20 years’ experience in management consultancy, says: “I joined

ActionCOACH because I love business and am passionate about helping people. The ActionCOACH system, the sense of community and the ethos of giving back provides a fantastic platform to help business owners grow their companies and to improve their lives. The five-day training was one of the best and most challenging things I have ever done in my life!” Anu Khanna worked with two global Fortune 500 companies, IKEA and GM Korea (Daewoo), so it was a life-changing decision for her to resign from the security of her job.

“My attraction to ActionCOACH was their 14-point culture and the clarity that gives to everyone’s vision and mission. I can now pursue my passion to develop people and business full time. “Coming out from training, I see that leaders in ActionCOACH don’t just tell us what has to be done, rather they show us how it should be done and lead by example. I’m excited by the continuous learning culture that is adopted in the organisation with an excellent support system and strong team spirit. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to help business owners create their desired future and support the overall economy.”

John’s guidelines will also be essential. “Bringing in the very best staff who are hungry to work with us will be important, too, as really this is a people business. As we grow, I see my role developing as a trainer, coach and motivator for our staff, as, at the end of the day, the business is in their hands. We currently employ around 60 people and we will be recruiting locally to build our team as we are driven to deliver more outlets.” Papa John’s is actively recruiting for new franchisees across the UK, and is currently running an incentive scheme, which offers some free equipment, assistance with marketing and reduced royalty fees to provide a helping hand when setting up.
