Razzamataz Theatre Schools has just launched a brand-new low-cost business offering to appeal to those looking for a part-time enterprise.

erhaps you are a parent wanting to work flexibly around your children? Or you work part-time but are looking for an income stream where you are your own boss? If so,


Razzamataz Early Years Franchise could be just the thing you are looking for. The Razzamataz Early Years Franchise offering has been created to cater for people wanting to work in the children’s performing arts industry but who do not have the relevant experience to launch a Razzamataz Theatre School.


MD and founder of Razzamataz Denise Hutton-Gosney explains: “We run regular ‘Discovery Den’ sessions across the UK where we meet many different potential franchisees. Whilst we can spot quite quickly who will make wonderful theatre school principals we also felt that many had lots of enthusiasm and potential but just not enough experience or time commitment to launch their own Razzamataz Theatre School. This is why we launched our Early Years Franchise, which doesn’t require the same time or performing arts experience as our regular theatre school.” Razzamataz Early Years Franchise consists of Razz Tiny Tots, a class especially designed for babies (six months to two years) along with their parent/carer, as well as Razz Tots for children of two to three years and Razz Minis for those aged four and five.


“These classes will be run during the week rather than on a Saturday, and unlike the main school, there won’t be an end-of- year show to organise,” explains Denise. “This makes the franchise much more accessible to a wide range of people who can combine it with another part-time job or with looking after children.” There are many working parents


already in the Razzamataz network who love the freedom and flexibility that being a franchisee offers. Kayleigh Redford, franchisee of Razzamataz Newcastle, combines a career that she is passionate about with looking after her young children. She says: “I’ve got a 10-month-old baby and a four-year-old and I can work out my schedule around them so I can be there for them when they need me.” Helen Bell is the franchisee of Razzamataz Sheffield as well as a new mum. Helen started her business when she was 23 and currently has 406 students. “Although it can be tricky juggling a newborn with work, I have made it happen. Razzamataz Sheffield performed at Disneyland Paris just five weeks after my son was born and I was able to be there with him cheering along our students and supporting head office as stage manager. I have the staff and setup in place now, so I don’t plan to go back full time anytime soon, but I can still enjoy financial


freedom, which is really incredible.” As a launch incentive, Razzamataz is seeking three franchisees to pilot the new opportunity – at a 50 per cent discount. The Razzamataz Early Years Franchise requires only a minimal financial outlay; the franchise fee is £5,000 plus vat and there is a £2,500 launch marketing budget. The three pilot franchisees will pay just £2,500 plus vat.


“Although the price of the franchise is less, each franchisee will receive full support and training so previous experience in the performing arts or running your own business is not necessary,” adds Denise. “We are very excited about our new product because we will be able to welcome a much wider circle of franchisees to our friendly network.”
