GAGGAN NAMED NUMBER ONE IN ASIA’S 50 BEST RESTAURANTS 2025 Gaggan Anand’s eponymous restaurant in Bangkok climbed two spots as he was awarded the title of The Best Restaurant in Asia at the celebrations in Seoul. Multiple iterations of the restaurant have been crowned the best in Asia on four previous occasions. Anand reimagined his concept in 2019 and went on to re-enter the list in 2023. His progressive Indian cuisine, blended with influences from Japan, France and Thailand has garnered plaudits as he has built a reputation for creative cuisine. This year, Gaggan is followed by two Hong Kong restaurants in second and third place respectively: The Chairman and Wing.

NEW SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCED AS THE FCSI GOLF SCRAMBLE AND CRABFEAST CELEBRATE 30 YEARS The Foodservice Consultants Society International Educational Foundation has announced the establishment of the Jo & John Birchfield Sr Educational Scholarship, commemorating over 30 years of fundraising through the annual Golf Scramble and Crabfeast events.


The scholarship honors the vision of Jo and John Birchfield Sr, whose dedication helped launch what would become one of the foundation’s most successful fundraising initiatives. Under the leadership of Bob Jacobs FCSI while at Birchfield Jacobs Foodsystems, and now at Culinary Advisors, the events have raised over $570,000, supporting educational programs and professional development. “The establishment of this scholarship ensures that Jo and John Birchfield Sr’s commitment to education and professional development will continue to inspire future generations,” says Kathleen Held, CPSM, president of the FCSI Educational Foundation and CEO of Cini-Little. “We’re honored to recognize their legacy as well as Bob Jacobs’ tremendous contribution to our foundation’s mission.”
