LA COMPILACIÓN DE ‘WATERGATE 28’ ES UNA EMOCIONANTE TRAVESÍA TECHNICOLOR CREA- DA POR BIESMANS.
Biesmans ha sido el encargado de mezclar el siguiente volumen de la prestigiosa serie de mezclas de ‘Watergate’, siguiendo los pasos de Ellen Allien, Solomun, La Fleur and Soul Clap. Aventurándose más allá de las indicaciones de estos mixes compilatorios, el artista belga ha producido un trabajo que costa plenamente en sus producciones origi- nales. El proyecto igualmente nos presenta colaboraciones con un extenso rango de artistas como Dusky, Mathew Jonson, Adana Twins y Kasper Bjørke, y talento en ascenso como Shubostar y Mala Ika. Lo que siguió fue no menos a 17 tracks originales y trece colaboraciones, posiblemente la más ambiciosa en la historia de estos compilados. Bies- mans colocó cada track como si estuviera armando un rompecabezas, construyendo ánimos sonoros en cada momento.

Biesmans mixed the next volume of Watergate’s presti- gious mix series, following in the footsteps of Ellen Allien, Solomun, La Fleur and Soul Clap. Going above and beyond the standard mix compilation brief, the Belgian artist has produced a work consisting entirely of his own original productions. The project also features collaborations with a diverse range of artists including Dusky, Mathew Jon- son, Adana Twins and Kasper Bjørke, alongside rising tal- ent such as Shubostar and Mala Ika. What followed was no less than 17 original tracks and 13 collaborations–arguably the most ambitious in Watergate’s compilation history. Biesmans pieced together each track like a jigsaw puzzle, building up sonic moods throughout.
FLOYD LAVINE PRESENTA ‘THE AFROFUTURISTS EP’, EL PRIMER COMPILADO V/A EN SU SELLO AFRIKAN TALES.
El proyecto ‘Afrikan Tales’ del Floyd Lavine vuelve para su primer lanzamiento de este 2022, presentando el inaugural V/A (Various Artists). A través de cuatro canciones, Floyd introduce artistas emergentes como Katimi Ai, Arol $kinzie and ATMokinesis, y además comparte un inspirador nue- vo tema creado por el mismo, ‘Vaseline’. Interpretando su sonido Afrofuturistic techno funk, el EP fue lanzado con la clara intención de explorar su verdad, reflejar su alrededor. Y encontrar lo desconocido en lo conocido. ‘Afrikan Tales’ fue presentado el año pasado, con sus propios EPs ‘Story Tellers’ 1 y 2, los cuales se estrenaron en marzo y junio re- spectivamente, consiguiendo ser aclamados, y contar con su cobertura en BBC Radio 6, The Wire, y Vogue Italia. Este es un proyecto sónico amplio que celebra la creatividad africana y la oportunidad de tomar posesión de sus histo- rias individuales a través de la música.
FLOYD LAVINE PRESENTS 'THE AFROFUTURISTS' EP, THE FIRST V/A ON HIS LABEL AFRIKAN TALES.
Floyd Lavine’s Afrikan Tales project returns for its first re- lease of 2022 to present the label’s maiden V/A sampler. Across four-tracks, Floyd introduces emerging artists Katimi Ai, Arol $kinzie and ATMokinesis, alongside shar- ing an inspired new original of his own, ‘Vaseline’. Dubbing his sound Afrofuturistic techno funk, the EPs were released with Floyd’s clear intention of “exploring my truth, reflecting my environment and finding the unknown in the known.” Afrikan Tales was launched in 2021, with Floyd’s own ‘Sto- rytellers’ EPs 1 & 2 dropping in March and June respec- tively, garnering acclaim and coverage in BBC Radio 6, The Wire and Vogue Italia. This is a broad sonic project celebrating African creativi- ty and a chance to take ownership of their own individual stories through music.
