¡Hola Jordan, gracias por tomarte el tiempo para charlar con Mixmag Caribbean, hemos sido fans de tu estilo desde tu performance en La Rêve en Ámsterdam, el año pasado! ¡Hola Rocío, estoy muy bien gracias! Gracias por la oportunidad de charlar contigo. Actualmente, me encuentro en Londres, pero he estado de gira por varios países europeos durante el verano.
Originalmente eres de Sudáfrica, ¿cierto? Tuve el placer de visitar tú maravilloso país rico en cultura y sonidos en 2017, y me encantó ¿Tienes todavía algún vínculo musical actual con tu ci- udad natal? Sí, nací y crecí en Sudáfrica. Hace dos años me mudé a Europa para expandir mi carrera en la música. Sudáfrica tiene un lugar muy especial en mi corazón, y en definitiva a influenciado en mi sonido único, y me animó a colaborar con múlti- ples artistas con diversos antecedentes.
¿Podrías decirnos cómo desarrollaste tu estilo? Mi abuelo era un músico de jazz muy famoso en Sudáfrica, y cuando falleció el me dejó todos sus instrumentos, incluyendo un saxofón antig- uo, una guitarra, y un piano. En mi adolescencia aprendí a grabar estos instrumentos capa por capa y comencé a incorporar elementos elec- trónicos a la música, así fue cómo se desen- volvió mi estilo.

Hi Jordan, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with Mixmag Caribbean. We have been fans of your style since your performance at La Rêve in Amsterdam, previous year. Hi Rocio, I am great, thank you. Thanks for the opportunity to chat with you. I am currently based in London but have been touring in mul- tiple European countries over the summer.
You are a native of South Africa, aren't you? I had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful coun- try rich in culture and multiple sounds in 2017, and I loved it. Do you have any current musical ties to your hometown? Yes, I was born and raised in South Africa. Then I moved to Europe two years ago to expand my music career. South Africa has a special place in my heart and definitely has influenced a unique sound and encouraged me to collab- orate with multiple artists with diverse musical backgrounds.
Can you tell us about how you fleshed out your style? My grandfather was a famous South African jazz musician, and when he passed away, he gave me all his musical instruments, including his old saxophone, guitar, and piano. In my teens, I learned how to record these instruments layer by layer and started adding electronic elements to the music. This is how I developed my style.
