Esta vez, Corito Sostenible viaja desde Cabarete y trae su EcoFestRD a Santo Domingo por primera vez, en una colaboración con esas marcas sostenibles locales y crea- das por mujeres empoderadas y emprendedoras: Ozea- no Swimwear, AguaYrai, Ecovillage Maisha, Tour Impact y Ceroplast.

¿Qué se incluye en sus eventos de bajo impacto ambien- tal?
En su EcoFestRD son super estrictos en cuanto a generar la menor cantidad de residuos posible; en ellos no encon- trarás ningún tipo de plástico. “Trae tu propio vaso” es una de sus primeras reglas del evento. En caso de que no ten- gas o traigas una, siempre puedes comprar un vaso hecho con una botella de vino reciclada.
Toda la decoración está hecha con materiales reciclados o naturales. Ellos se aseguran de dar una segunda vida a las cosas que la mayoría de las personas botan a la basura. Todo se reutiliza y se transforma en algo nuevo. Incluso hacen sus propios baños compostables, área para niños, patio de comidas y puestos hechos de paletas y llantas.

For the first time, Corito Sostenible travels from Cabarete, bringing their EcoFestRD to Santo Doming hand in hand with the following female-empowered local, sustainable brands: Ozeano Swimwear, AguaYrai, Ecovillage Maisha, Tour Impact, and Ceroplast. The event will happen for two days on October 15th and 16th, 2022, with the primary goal of connecting people from the island under the same mes- sage of eco-conscious dance while enjoying local arts, brands, food, and music.
What is included in the low environmental impact events?
In their EcoFestRD, they are super strict in creating as little waste as possible; you will not find any plastic. “Bring your own cup” is one of their first rules at the event. If you do not have or bring one, you can always buy a glass made out of a recycled wine bottle.
All the decorations are made out of recycled, upcycled, or natural materials. Giving a second life to the things that most people throw away and making sure to reuse them and transform them into something new. Additionally, you can try the experience of compostable bathrooms during the events.
