¿Quiénes fueron algunas de tus más grandes influencias como multi-instrumentalista, y cómo desarrollaste tu interés en la música? A muy temprana edad, mi madre siempre ponía el álbum “Division Bell” de Pink Floyd, amaba las melodías que Roger Waters creaba con su guitarra y como cantaba de forma melancólica, esto inspiró mis vocales y mi estilo en la guitarra. Otra influencia fuerte, fue la primera vez que vi a FKJ hacer un live set para Cercle, fue entonces que decidí el camino que quería seguir, combi- nar instrumentos en vivo con música electrónica y crear e interpretar algo que nadíe más haya visto o escuchado.


¿Cuál ha sido tu secreto para continuar in- novando musicalmente en una industria tan competitiva? Mi objetivo primordial es se diferente a otros ar- tistas y DJs. Ser DJ y tener un live act puede ser bastante desafiante, pero observar como la gente reacciona a tu live me recuerda que el mundo necesita más de eso. Pongo mi corazón y alma en cada performance que hago, eso es lo que me separa del resto de los artistas en la industria.


Este mes de mayo, nos cautivaste con la vibra emocional de ‘I Still Think of You’, una pieza que creaste junto a Mees Salome y Crimse ¿Cómo surge el track? Y ¿Qué les hizo tomar la de- cisión de que era perfecto para ser lanzado en Purified Records? “I Still Think of You” surge cuando Crimse me en- vió un beat con algunos acordes de piano que provocan mucha emoción, entonces escribí y grabé las vocales en mi estudio en Sudáfrica hace dos años. Una vez que recibimos el remix de Mees Salome, estaba claro que sería perfecto para Purified Records. Antes de lanzarlo, la líder del sello Nora En Pure lo puso en múltiples fes- tivales en todo el mundo. Fue hermoso ver cómo el público reaccionó a el. Nunca pensé lanzarlo, pero tuve muchos mensajes después de mis sets preguntándome donde se podría descargar el track, así que decidí lanzarlo.

Who are some of your biggest influences as a multi-instrumentalist, and how did you devel- op your interest in music? From a young age, my Mom always played Pink Floyd's "Division Bell" album. I loved the melo- dies that Roger Water created with his guitar and how he sang in a melancholic kind of way, this inspired my vocals and guitar style. Another massive influence was the first time I watched FKJ do a live set for Cercle. I decided that was the direction I wanted to go in, combining live instruments with electronic music to create and perform something that no one had ever seen or heard.


What has been Jordan's secret to keeping in- novating musically in such a competitive in- dustry?


My primary aim is to be different from other artists and DJs. Being a live act in a DJ scene can be challenging but seeing how the crowd reacts to the live performance reminds me that the world needs to see more of it. I put my heart and soul into every performance I do, and this is what separates me from other artists in the industry.


This May, we were captivated by the emotional vibe of "I Still Think of You," a track created by you, Mees Salome & Crimse. How did the track come to be? What made you guys decide that 'Purified Records was the perfect home for it? "Still Think Of You" started when Crimsen sent me a beat with some piano chords that pro- voked lots of emotion, so I wrote and recorded the vocals in my studio in South Africa about two years ago. Once we got the Mees Salome remix back, it was clear that it would be a per- fect fit for Purified Records. Before it was re- leased, label owner Nora en Pure played it at multiple music festivals worldwide. It was beau- tiful to see how the crowd reacted to it. Nora planned a tour to South Africa, and I was lucky enough to open for her at all three shows. It was incredible first handily to experience the feed- back from the crowd.


And the very next month, we found a colour- ful sonic carnival with 'Feel Good'; this track accomplished its mission of making us happy on the dance floor. Tell us about its structure. How did you curate it? Moreover, your thoughts when you had the final result. I made "Feel Good" with the sole purpose of having a colossal saxophone moment in my set. I wanted the track to be my final song so that I leave the crowd feeling happy and nos- talgic. I never planned on releasing it, but I had too many messages after my sets asking where they could download the track, so I decided to release it.
