Whalley pupils enjoy rolling decorated eggs in contest


FRIDAY was an eggs-tra special day for pupils at Whalley


CE Primary School. From 9-15 a.m., pupils and staff took part in the annual


egg-rolling competition. Everyone had been asked to take a decorated hard-boiled egg into school to enter in the


event. Prizes were presented to the winners and runners-up in

Event in memory of Humph A FUND-RAISING event is being organised in memory


of Clitheroe man Mr Anthony Leecy. B's Bar Cafe at the Wellsprings is providing the venue


for the night, which is being staged on May 5th. Known to his friends as Humph, 29-year-old Mr Leecy died in


April last year in tragic circumstances. As well as a disco, karaoke and supper, there will also be


a number of raffles. One of the top prizes on offer, a CD system, has been donated by Mr Leecy's parents, Mr Tony and Mrs Ann Leecy. A donation will go to charity. Tickets for the fund-raiser cost £10 and are on sale at


B's Bar Cafe, the Royal British Legion in Whalley Road, or the social club in Wellgate.
