WELCOME
We will be better than ever I
’m sitting in my offi ce looking at the calendar and it says November 2021… Yikes! In a few weeks my term as chair
of FCSI’s Worldwide Board of Directors is ending. Just call me “The Zoom Pres”. All kidding aside, two years ago this January 1st, I took offi ce with great hopes to meet our members all over the world and to make some benefi cial advancements to the goals and objectives we had set for ourselves. The devastation caused by the pandemic took a terrible toll on our industry and for many, the consulting practices that had taken years to build. But we stayed strong and shared, supported and inspired one another, as our FCSI motto puts forth.
While the camaraderie with our family of colleagues happened on a minimal level, some important advancements on our slate of ‘to dos’ did occur. I am extremely happy, knowing my time was well spent in the furtherance of some of our Worldwide Society goals and objectives. Each of our divisions individually (TAD, APD and EAME) and Worldwide, through its media

partner Progressive Content, all produced wonderful educational seminars, webinars, roundtable videos and unique initiatives such as the very successful On Tap and BizEssentials series from TAD; the thought- provoking member educational forums and virtual factory tour initiative from APD and the hard-hitting forums featuring Allied and Professional member panel discussions on the pandemic eff ects on the industry in the EAME regions. All of these were produced using the Zoom platform. In addition to the above, we will be launching a new Allied Member initiative to promote our Allied Members. We will also soon be announcing the launch of our FCSI Worldwide-branded BIM/Revit Guidelines and Standards program (along with a detailed technical parameter section), which our BIM/Revit Committee featuring consultants and industry Allied members from around the world, have been working on for a number of years now. Lastly, we have instituted an updated succession planning program for our WW Board and look forward to fi nally scheduling a major FCSI Worldwide face-to-face Strategic Planning Meeting that will set the updated standards and governance models for The Worldwide Board of Directors for many years to come. It has been interesting and challenging, but It’s been my honor and pleasure to serve as your chair of the FCSI Worldwide Board of Directors for these past two years. I thank each and every one of you for your grit and perseverance to stick with us, to stick with your practices and to stick with our industry during these trying times. We’re coming out of it and we will
be better than ever, so keep the faith my friends. Thanks again and I hope to see you all soon somewhere on the world trail.
