Growth in China

The Chinese medical device sector grew at an annual rate of 20% between 2015 and 2019, going from 308bn yuan ($47.7bn) to 629bn yuan. But due to the rapid increase in demand caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, growth during the one-year period between 2019 and 2020 was even stronger. Chinese consulting and research organisation Qianzhan estimates that revenue reached more than 800bn yuan in the time frame.
