ydrosol GmbH & Co. KG headquartered in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, Germany, is a fast-growing international supplier of food stabilisers, with subsidiaries around the world. Its specialists develop and produce tailor-made stabiliser systems for dairy products, ice cream and desserts, delicatessen foods and ready meals, as well as meat, sausage, and fish products. Hydrosol also has years of experience in the development of plant-based alternatives. The Planteneers company was spun off in 2020. With an international network of 20 affiliates and numerous qualified foreign representatives, Hydrosol is represented in the world’s key markets. As a subsidiary of the independent, owner-operated Stern-Wywiol Gruppe with a total of twelve sister companies, Hydrosol can make use of many synergies. The company has access to the knowledge of some 170 R&D specialists and to the extensive applications technology of the large Stern-Technology Center in Ahrensburg, Germany, a place for knowledge exchange and inspiring ideas. Interdisciplinary collaboration, for example with colleagues from the bakery and milling area or the vitamin and enzyme labs, gives rise to interesting solutions for customers.

State-of-the-art research Hydrosol’s pilot plants for meat and fish products, dairy products, ice cream and deli foods are equipped with advanced testing facilities. The entire technology center combines 12 special laboratories to form a state-of-the-art research unit. Hydrosol’s specialists have the extensive knowledge of application technology and machinery needed to think through and test innovative solutions. Pioneering innovations are created through close cooperation with customers and communication with colleagues from other Group companies.
Thanks to decades of applications research, Hydrosol has extensive knowledge of the many individual substances and their interactions. This lets the company achieve closely targeted stabilisation results, adjust textures as desired, and reduce costs.
