CLASS ACTS

Cindy McMillon Manning is the mother of three children, grandmother of seven, and twice widowed.

She has been a realtor in central Mississippi for over 30 years. Cindy enjoys international travel, taking her grandchildren skiing, and kayaking. This year she will sail in the Bahamas and travel to Greece to do "The Footsteps of Paul.”

Sometimes sad occasions can become happy reunions. Many Queens friends came to Lynn Stultz's mother's funeral

in Charlote on Feb. 8.

Edrie Anne Blackwelder (Tudie) ’67 recently moved to Roanoke Rapids where her dogs and other pets enjoy their new home.

The World of Noir. Her topics include unjustly forgoten stars like Ann Dvorak and Warren William and comparing the various actors who played Phillip Marlowe (Dick Powell and Robert Mitchum are her favorites over Humphrey Bogart).

Donna Volney Michaux, her husband, John, and their dog, Suki, are making their 30-year dream come true

Class of 1972: Lynn Stultz, Wendy Crawford Galleher, Pam Wilson, Bety Crosland, Cam McIntyre and Cathy Torrance Mills

In Oct. 2021, Martha Dyer White and her husband, Lynn, both retired and moved to Windsor Run

Senior Living in Mathews. Their daughter, Britany, and her family (husband, Ryan, and children, Claire, 4, and Cai, 1), live nearby in south Charlote. Martha and Lynn enjoy spending time with the family and up at their mountain home, outside of Sparta. They also enjoy traveling, with a trip to Ireland planned aſter Martha’s 50th Queens reunion.

Being retired has given Elizabeth Pearce the time to do what she loves most — write about film, and especially about film noir from the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s. Anyone interested can read her posts on the Facebook site

Lachlan Collins Ivy ’90 with husband, Robin Odom.

Cindy McMillon Manning ’71 enjoys international travel and plans to visit the Bahamas and Greece this year.

Bety Simpson Smith ’67 spent two weeks in Germany with her friend, Rena.

and cruising on their 34-foot trawler from Oak Island South on the ICW. It has been a total adventure, learning experience, and challenge, but Donna has goten "salty!" It took them 24 days and 470 miles to get to St. Augustine, Florida. She was actually at a marina submiting this while at Marineland! They spent a week there exploring and playing with their toys: dingy, paddle board and kayak. There were lots of dolphins, sea turtles, ospreys, pelicans and searches for the roseate spoonbill. They will probably head north aſter leaving Marineland because Donna is in 12 potery shops specializing in sea turtle potery in addition to teaching environmental programs in the spring. Donna’s passion for potery and love of science began while she was a student at Queens. Happy cruising and make your dreams come true.

Elisa Camara Thompson is currently very busy completing the www.WeCameInPeace.us documentary honoring her brother, United States Marine Core Sergeant Mecot Camara, who was killed in the 1983 Beirut Bombing. She was a freshman living in Belk Dorm during the time of this historic tragedy. This poignant, intensely personal film will chronicle the United States Marines presence in Beirut, Lebanon, from 1982 to 1984. Most of Elisa’s memories

from Queens were filled with happy moments being together with her Phi Mu Sorority sisters. However, Oct. 23, 1983, is a day that she will never forget. This documentary will serve to ensure that these brave men are never forgoten, especially her brother.

A great time was had by the Class of ’83 members who celebrated 44 years of friendship at Folly Beach, South Carolina. Paula (Greer) Yorke joined the group for lunch to tell them all about her wonderful book, "Truck Tunes for Tots."

(Leſt to right) Paula (Greer) Yorke, Cathi (Wilkinson) Litcher, Mary (Nethercut) Boyer, Donna Morris, Jennifer Smith, Edith (Busbee) Old, Martha (Cooke) Player, Judi (Walker) Swords and Elizabeth (Haner) Hoover.

Hello Class of 1988! Kelly Jones and her husband, Wade, moved to Isle of Palms, South Carolina,

in Nov. 2022. Please reach out if you are ever in the area! Kelly would love to hear from any of her classmates.

Caryn Smith Long recently found out that she is one of five teachers nationally who were selected to be inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.

Lachlan Collins Ivy married Robin Odom last August within their favorite local garden. Aſter retiring from

a 28-year career in business management, she completed teacher certification and is happily teaching art to middle school students. When not in
