Last October, Betty Simpson Smith spent two weeks in Germany with Rena Magirius, whose friendship goes back to 1980 when they were chaperones in each country for The Lovet School Student Exchange Program with Bonn Students. Bety was still happy that Rena was an English teacher as her German had not improved!

Edrie Anne Blackwelder (Tudie) bought a gingerbread house and moved from California to
Roanoke Rapids in late 2022. In February, she began training her two Morgan mares in dressage (based on Erik Herbermann's work with her and Sans Peur in California). Her Samoyeds (and chupracabra) love their new half-acre playground. Edrie's life has definitely “gone to the dogs" (and horses, bunny, and bird!). She says, "If you are up this way, come visit!"
Judy Moore Leonard hosted a gathering for alumni living at the Pines Community in Davidson, North Carolina.
The class expresses sympathy to Elizabeth Anderson Woods, who lost her daughter Nancy Woods Stamp on Oct. 5, 2022, aſter a five-year batle with colon cancer. Nancy was born on Jan. 31, 1978, and was a resident of both Cashiers, North Carolina — where Elizabeth and her husband, John, and much of their family live — and Florence, South Carolina.
Tilda Todd Balsley and her husband, Skip, enjoy trips with their two sons and their families (totaling 10).
During Thanksgiving, they spent some time in a Tuscan villa and visited Rome. The Coliseum tour had been greatly expanded and was fascinating. On another note, Tilda hopes to see her "roommate," Sheryl Greenwood, when she visits family in Atlanta. It's fun to realize how much you still have in common with friends from college.
The class expresses sympathy to Elizabeth Barr Johnson on the death of her husband on March 3, 2022. They were married for almost 51 years.
The annual Miami-Montgomery get-together in Highlands, North Carolina, was delayed by two years, but happily, in Nov. 2022, they were finally able to gather for dinner.
(Top row, leſt to right) Dale Chapman Webb ’69, Amelia Smith Lucas ’69, Mary Anna McClendon ’69, Dana Clay ’68 and (seated, leſt to right) Beth Gordy Dubina ’69 and Anne Moore Paulk ’69 gathered in Nov. 2022.
