ALL WHITE TAXIS, SOUTHPORT, DISTRIBUTE CARE BOXES

The drivers and management staff at All White Taxis in Southport have been fundraising and have managed to raise over £1,000. With that money they have bought products in order to make up care pack- age boxes for their customers who are self-isolating. The boxes contain personal hygiene items, including toi- let paper, as well as a variety of staple foodstuffs. Thanks to the caring

drivers the parcels are now being deliv- ered to

those

customers most in need over the com- ing days.

COURTESY TAXIS, NORWICH GIVES MORE THAN 1,000 FREE JOURNEYS

Courtesy Taxis in Norwich wanted to show its support for NHS staff during the coronavirus pan- demic by offering free travel to front- line workers. Now, two weeks since the scheme was launched, the firm has given away a total of 1,028 jour- neys to and from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and surrounding areas. It has also been offering dis- counted travel for hospital staff living further afield. The firm has re- ceived countless messages of thanks from frontline work- ers. Mark Streeter, the owner of Cour- tesy Taxis, said:

“One thousand is a big number, it’s phe- nomenal for us - we never thought it would take off like it has and we’re proud of that,” he said. To ensure the safety of all involved, drivers have been given gloves and sanitiser wipes, and extra cleaning pro- cedures have been put in place. Mr Streeter said:

“More than anything the camaraderie bet- ween drivers has been wonderful. They’re just going above and beyond, as are the operators and controllers, they’re fantastic in supporting the ser- vice.” Mr Streeter said the company planned to run the scheme for the foreseeable future.
