care workers and Bri- tannia offering re- duced rates for NHS staff or those with an evidence letter. Cllr Jeanie Bell, cab- inet member for Safer Communities, said: “We are always very proud of our Gold Standard taxi drivers and once again they have shown why we want to back our drivers who are very much key workers in their own right by helping to get front line staff to work or going above and beyond to help those in iso- lation. “We know that they are being backed up

by their operators who are offering financial support for taxi drivers through delaying fee pay- ments and other measures to help them through this difficult time. “We’re supporting them through: #KnowYourRide, so please make sure to support our local businesses who need our help, especially when social distanc- ing measures are removed. “Our heartfelt thanks go to the drivers and companies who show how we are working together in these difficult times.”

to NHS staff who work in the Neo-natal Unit as they travel to and from the hospi- tal, as well as paying 50% towards parents’ fares who have

babies there, while Tiny Lives pay the other 50%. Rob said: “I wanted to take some of the strain off and ensure that all the staff were able to get to work. I’m glad that through this initia- tive, we will ensure that all the staff will be there to continue to provide the amaz- ing service to the children.”

Manager Emma Satherwaite for LA Taxis said: “We wanted to do some- thing extra special for the team at the RVI. It really is the least we can do in thanks for the hard work that these guys do.”
