FOR NHS WORKERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Dunkirk had Britain’s fleets of small boats to help our soldiers in their fight, now Britain’s fleets of minicab firms are doing the same for our NHS heroes in this war against the Coronavirus, enabled by mini- cabit.
minicabit, Britain’s largest cab comparison service, has joined forces with a leading liv- ery charity, The Fishmongers’ Company’s Charitable Trust, to offer free cab rides across the UK for NHS workers supporting the Coronavirus response.
Facing restricted timings and fewer chances for social distancing on public transport, NHS staff can instead travel for free by cab to and from hospitals, hospices and mental health centres in the smallest towns and the largest cities. This will make a real difference for workers coming off long or late shifts. The scheme is being funded by charitable donations - over £100,000 of donations have already come into the campaign (visit

which is expected to reach £200,000 over the next 1-2 months. Over 2,000 NHS staff and counting, around the UK have so far registered for the scheme from as far afield as London, Cambridge, Cheltenham, Liver- pool and Aberdeen.
Donations are being received by The Fish- mongers’ Company’s Charitable Trust to cover the outgoings of any of the 800
private hire companies on minicabit’s net- work that are fulfilling these bookings. minicabit is also donating its usual commis- sion to the charity to fund more trips.
The scheme is also a boost for cab operators and drivers impacted by regular sources of work slowing down amidst the lockdown.
