...BRICKS AND STONES ABUSIVE PASSENGER TRASHED MY TAXI SAYS

FURIOUS HUDDERSFIELD DRIVER WHO FILMED ORDEAL

A furious taxi driver says a man refused to get out of his cab for hours then ver- bally abused him, threw a rock at him, vandalised the taxi and urinated inside. According to Exam- inerLive Muhammed Naeem, 52, picked up the man at 6am on 23 February out- side McDonald’s in John William Street - but says the man would not tell him where he wanted to go and refused to get out of the cab. Eventually Mr Nae- em, from Hudders- field, took three passengers to Skel- manthorpe, who said the man could travel with them. Mr Naeem filmed most of the ordeal on his phone and footage shows the

man telling the group going to Skel- manthorpe: “I was going to get a hotel but this is cheaper.” In Skelmanthorpe he is heard to say to Mr Naeem: “You f***ing j*****i moth- erf***ers,

f***ing

b*****d, scumbag motherf***er.” He tells Mr Naeem he has lost ‘loads of money tonight’.

BRICK THROWN AT DALKEITH TAXI

A brick was alleged- ly thrown through a taxi driver’s window, narrowly missing his head, as he waited at a taxi rank. Swift Taxis said one of their drivers was tar- geted as he waited in Dalkeith on a re- cent Saturday night. According to Edin- burghLive,

they

shared pictures of the damage to his car, with both the driver side and pas- senger’s front win- dows smashed. A stone can be seen lying on the pave-

ment. An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in con- nection with the incident. The Newtongrange- based taxi firm said: “If anyone has any information on the idiot who put a brick through one of Swift Taxis’ windows just missing the driver’s head last night, let us or Dalkeith police sta- tion know please, police are hoping to look at CCTV but this can take a time”

Then he says: “Keep your noise down anyway, I am trying to get some f***ing sleep. What’s the matter with you? Selfish b*****d.” After this Mr Naeem said the man tried to hit him so he ran off with the man

giving chase, throw- ing a rock at him. He said the man went back to the taxi, uri- nated inside and pulled the door off. After getting back inside the man is heard to say: “Taxi’s fallen apart man. You need to get the f***ing AA out. It’s not f***ing going well, is it? That dream of that busi- ness you are going to build in the UK? It’s not going well, is it?” Mr Naeem said the man eventually ran off towards Hudder- sfield. A person living nearby who had seen what the man did helped Mr Naeem secure his

door. Mr Naeem said he called 999 three times but was told nobody would could attend. He said he was disappointed with the police’s response and has asked them to call him back after 6pm. He said: “I can’t work - my taxi is broken. I am losing business and my insurance will go up if I have to make a

claim. I can’t ring anyone at the coun- cil because it is Sunday and they will say it’s a police matter. “I have had no sleep and I missed my prayer this morning - I never miss it. “I couldn’t throw him out of the taxi - what can I do? I can’t fight with any- body because I will lose my taxi badge.” Mr Naeem said he had suffered several attacks, including one where he was pulled from his vehi- cle and punched in 2015 and another in 2017 when a drunk- en passenger tried to smash the securi- ty screen.

TAXI DRIVER PELTED WITH BRICKS IN ‘SHOCKING’ BOLTON ATTACK

A taxi driver was left with a smashed win- dow after a group of hooded thugs hurl- ed bricks and stones at his car. The Bolton News reports that Etisham Ahmed, 35, was returning from pick- ing up some pas- sengers in Breight- met around 8pm on a recent Sunday evening when the vehicle was bom- barded by the van- dals. He told The Bolton News: “As I was coming back down the road there was a group of teenagers - four of them. They were

throwing

stones and bricks at my taxi. One of the bricks went through the window and smashed it and then hit my hand. I was so upset. I was con- fused and scared and they threw about three or four stones at me. I didn’t know what to do.”

Mr Ahmed, who has been driving taxis for nearly 20 years, said this was the second time he has endured such an incident in the last six months. He described the attackers as white teenagers wearing black hoodies.

The damage meant he had to leave his passengers to get a separate cab and then take his own car to be repaired. The attack has been reported to the police who are in- vestigating. Yasif Khan, secretary of Bolton Private Hire Association, said: “It’s a national prob- lem but it’s hap- pening more and more in Bolton, es- pecially in last few months.” Mr Khan said the Pri- vate Hire Associa- tion was working with police and Bolton Council to combat the vandals.
