TEESSIDE CABBIE RACIALLY ABUSED AND ASSAULTED
A cabbie aged in his forties was reportedly racially abused and then grabbed from behind and assaulted. Cleveland Police has launched an appeal to trace the two passengers after the attack in Norton, Stockton- on-Tees at 9.30pm on Sunday, October 30. The passengers then made off without payment.
PH DRIVER BEATEN BY PASSENGERS IN MACCLESFIELD
A PH driver was attacked and violently beaten up by two males and a female in in Mill Street, Macclesfield on Wednesday night, 23 November. The driver was taken to hospital and discharged with a broken finger and bruising to his face and head. Three adults have been arrested for the attack and realised on police bail. The driver described the incident as “violent” and said he was “lucky to be alive”.
BELFAST CABBIE AND POLICE THREATENED WITH HANDGUN
A taxi driver in east Belfast was threatened with a firearm during the early hours of Thursday morning, 17 November, after picking up a man in the Albertbridge Road area. A PSNI spokesperson said: “As the vehicle travelled through the city, the driver was threatened with a handgun and ordered to handover money. The driver was able to alert a police patrol and when they approached the vehicle, the man fled. “He was pursued on foot by an officer who also had the gun pointed at him during the chase. “After briefly losing sight of the suspect, officers arrested a man they located hiding in a garden nearby a short time later. “The firearm has been seized by police and will be subject to examination.” The suspect appeared in court where bail was denied due to the risk of further offending. The judge stated: “I’m not prepared to take a chance.”

MILFORD HAVEN CABBIE RECEIVES FACIAL INJURIES
Dyfed-Powys Police said they are investigating an assault that took place at 11:45pm on Saturday, November 19, in Milford Haven. A police spokesperson said the assault happened on John Lewis Street, Hakin, and the driver sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
KNIFEPOINT ROBBERY OF CABBIE IN ISLE OF WIGHT
A Newport man was questioned by police following an attempted knifepoint robbery of a taxi driver in Sandown on Saturday night, 12 November. A local taxi driver in his 40s – was threatened with the bladed article and told to hand over money. A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a Class B drug.
BASEBALL ATTACK ON BIRMINGHAM CABBIE
A man has been arrested after a road rage attack in Birmingham. Police said that a taxi driver was assaulted with a baseball bat in Highgate. The alarm was raised and West Midlands police officers later tracked the suspect down to a nearby gym. He was arrested and a weapon was recovered from a car. Inquiries remain ongoing.
CHESHIRE DRIVER FOUND UNCONSCIOUS ON ROAD
A Cheshire East driver, Nabeel, was seriously attacked on the night of 4 November, his car was taken from him and he was left on a country lane unconscious.” A police vehicle saw him and stayed with him until an ambulance came. He was taken to Macclesfield General hospital and later transferred to Stoke hospita for a CT scan as he couldn’t feel his legs. His car was later recovered and written off.
