UBER ANNOUNCES LOCAL CAB HAS EXTENDED ITS COVERAGE FUTHER WITH 15 MORE OPERATORS
Uber is continuing to expand Local Cab across the UK, enabling more passengers to book trips with local operators via the Uber app. During the last month, Uber has launched Local Cab with a further 15 operators including the first launch in the City of Liverpool.
• 001 ROYAL CABS - Milton Keynes and Buckingham - previous launch in Bucks with Aylesbury- based Jet Taxis in September 2021
• A&B CABS - Leicester - previous launch in Leicester with Fosse Taxis in October 2022
• ARROW CARS - Leeds - previous launch with SJK Private Hire in June 2022
• BROWNHILLS CARS - Walsall, Lichfield and Cannock
• BUDGET CARS - High Wycombe • CAMCAB - Cambridge • CABPRO - Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead - first Local Cab launch in these areas
• DG CARS - Nottingham - previous launches with Ideal Cars, Central Cars, Southside Cars and Nottingham Cars during 2022
• DOMINO HIRE - Rutherglen & Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire. Launches with both Kalvin Kabs and Hastie Cars in nearby Hamilton and East Kilbride in October 2021
• FIVE STAR TAXS - Gloucester and Cheltenham - previous launches with Starline Taxis and A2B Taxis in July 2021
• IDEAL CARS - Nottingham and the Ashfield District
• MIDDLETON CARS - Manchester- - several Local Cab launches in Greater Manchester previously, including with Intime Taxis, Street Cars and Cresta
• MILL HILL TAXIS - Blackburn • VILLAGE TAXIS - Liverpool •WESTERN CARS - Derby - previous launch with PJ Cars in October 2022
Anyone opening the Uber app in these locations can select the Local Cab option with trips booked directly with local operators, and all subsequent customer support provided by them.
The product has launched in over 65 locations since it was first piloted in 2021.

*From May 2021 the new Civil Liability Bill will come into eff ect. This will change the way drivers claim for whiplash injury and further increases the need to ensure you have pre-purchased a motor legal expenses insurance policy. As a result of the Civil Liability Bill, you will be liable for any legal costs for pursuing claims of up to £5,000 in respect of whiplash injuries following a motor accident.
