BOLT DRIVER SUSPENDED AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF KIDNAPPING PASSENGER IN NW LONDON
Ride-hailing service Bolt has confirmed that one of its drivers has been suspended after he allegedly ‘kidnapped’ a female passenger last week The passenger took to social media shortly after the incident on Sunday, October 23, claiming her Bolt driver had ‘tried to kidnap’ her,
claiming he had taken her to his house in North West London rather than her destination. A Bolt spokesperson confirmed the diver had been ‘temporarily suspended’ from the job amid an ongoing investigation. The spokesperson said: “This is typical with all allegations of this
serious nature and, as part of this, we are speaking further with the driver and passenger, and liaising with the relevant authorities.” The Metropolitan Police also confirmed that a 40-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident, and later released on bail.
NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME FIRM’S DRIVER SACKED AFTER ALLEGEDLY GROPING TEEN PASSENGER
A driver has been sacked after allegedly groping a teenage girl in his cab. Roseville Taxis has apologised to the family of the 15- year-old following the incident. The girl was being taken to her North Staffs home and it is alleged the driver asked to touch the girl’s breasts before then turning around and putting his hand on her leg.
Her mum says the girl then asked to be dropped off and ran home. The mum said: “She was sitting behind the driver. She said he was fine at first and he was quite nice. He was looking at her in the wing mirror. All of a sudden he turned and she got really scared. “She thought he was going to do something to her. They were in such close proximity.”
The driver’s account of the alleged incident is not known. A Roseville spokesman said: “The driver was dismissed instantly.” A Staffordshire police spokesman said: “We were called to reports that a teenage girl had been sexually assaulted in a black Audi on the A34, at 8.50pm on Sunday, November 20 An investigation is ongoing.”
SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR COLCHESTER CABBIE WHO DROVE FOR DRUGS GANG & BOUGHT WEAPONS
A former Colchester taxi driver who drove for a large scale drug operation run by an organised crime gang has been given a suspended prison sentence. The operation involved large amounts of cocaine, heroin and cannabis and although Olusola Durojaiye initially drove members of the gang round as a legitimate taxi driver there came a time when he knew they were involved in the supply of drugs, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

In December 2018 Durojaiye took gang members to Southend to buy weapons. When they were unable to buy a machete and a sword as they were too young they called Durojaiye, who bought the weapons on their behalf. The court heard Durojaiye was arrested in January 2019 for assisting members of the group to “spirit away” a 17-year-old youth following the murder of 32-year- old Daniel Saunders in Ipswich. Durojaiye was found guilty with
four others of assisting an offender and was given a 12-month sentence suspended for two years, and 250 hours unpaid work. Now Durojaiye, 37, has admitted participating in the activities of an organised crime group between September 2018 and January 2019 He was given a 15-month prison sentence suspended for two years, and ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work. Durojaiye has lost his employment as a taxi driver.
